It sounds like the Cavi will be identical to the Savage, except for using a cheaper box and (slightly) slower chipset - for a lower price. Now me, I want that tiny extra bit of speed, so I bought a second Savage while he still has them available.
The only thing I wish I had waited for was the new Cavi remote, which is supposed to be more RFID-like instead of direct line of sight.
You can't beat the Savage and Daigo has been top notch for customer support in every single way. Just can't say it enough.
BROMOx, I tried sending Daigo a PM but his mailbox is full, if i cannot get hold of Daigo, i may just order another box direct from The Standard, as there are a few questions i need to ask about whether to get the Savage or Cavi, also will the Cavi remote work on the Savage. Yes customer service has been great for me, i haven't bothered Daigo, i go online to the Standard & got a few things taken care of , much easier that way & do not have to wait for things to get resolved, i am very happy with my Savage!
Agree about the text. I have unread PM's (that no longer apply) sitting here unread too. But he is very responsive by text or FB.
I get all my answers in one of my two FB forums, usually just by reading what others are posting. The main Standard FB is much more active and full of info. I am not sure Daigo has any Savages left. It sounds like the Standard had a final run made and are blowing them out. If you want one of those last ones, you'll need to buy through the site (which I ended up doing) - at a great Black Friday price. I'm sure Daigo will get a cut of any Cavi he sells going forward, but my guess is that he is no longer selling the Savage directly. If you are waiting for the Cavi, go through Daigo. Standard doesnt like going around their vendors. I'm looking at a third TV over Black Friday and probably a future Cavi in January-ish.
I do not think the remotes will be interchangeable. Heard someone mention that a while back. Things change though, so none of the above is more than my suppositions. Best advice is to ask Daigo by text directly.

So many pages to read through at this point but what happens when cable companies cut the prices or do away with entertainment packages all together and become internet all inclusive? They’ll provide boxes like this and say have at it. Only now our bill for internet will be $300 or more a month for everything all in house that’s internet.
