I assume you sell out of the money calls? I definitely think it can decrease variance/volatility but the prices tend to be very efficient if you are doing it with blue chip stocks. Basically just getting income for apprecation but not really being paid much for giving up the upside.

Another thing I don't like about otm CC is the tax issues. If the stock spikes and gets called you gotta pay short-term cap gains which is way higher than long-term.

...PS the whole reason that seymour has to pose this question on a forum is I am in the middle of firing our electrician for a variety of transgressions. Then again, what can I expect from an electrician that honed his work ethic during a 7-month construction stint at sey's house in 2012 which mainly consisted of seymour grilling the workers steaks every day, them polishing off a handle a day of you-name-it and $800 a week in white.
