"Now that we are at war, do you want the US to win or lose?"
My primary concern is that we end this war & prevent future "preemptive" wars.

"Someone has to win now."
I disagree. Did anyone "win" Vietnam?

"I would say we won Gulf 1 ask the raped Kuwaiti women."
Gulf War I was (in large part) to protect Kuwait from Iraq. That is the difference, we are not protecting anyone now.
Unfortunately women are raped in America too.

"Ask France if anything good came from war? They'd be speaking German."
Again that was a "defensive" not "preemptive" war, Germany attacked Europe. Iraq is not attacking anyone, in fact, we are playing the part of Germany in this "war".

Lander,
We sure as hell didn't win because of the swill within.

Do you want the US to lose this war?

We are in this war, do you want the US to win or not? Simple question.

Gargoyle,

Unfortunately our left wing friends will refuse to answer this question, primarily because they do not want to admit that in their heart, they would rather see Americans DIE than George W. Bush proven correct about anything. I find that very sad, but it's the truth.

"they would rather see Americans DIE than George W. Bush proven correct about anything"

We don't want a war meaning we don't want anyone to die. How do you interpret this as wanting Americans to die?

Gargoyle and SJ.
Exactly, that's my point. They won't answer if they want the US to win or lose. That tells me all I would ever want to know about these types. Lander should be working for the Iraqi government. It doesn't surprise me.

"Lander should be working for the Iraqi government."
No, General Franks will be overseeing that. I doubt that he needs my assistance.
Thanks for the recommendation though.

Lander,
Do not spin the question. Now that the US is at war, do you want the US to win or lose?

I want the U.S. to pull out. I don't want us there in the first place. I support the troops in the sense that I feel very badly that they are dying for what I believe is a phoney war, and I support the idea of getting them all home safe now, not later. You can also see the piece I posted elsewhere from an ex-marine vet for one man's opinion on what soldiers feel about the "support the troops" concept.

You cannot get the answer you want because you are asking a question that ignores the nuances of the situation in Iraq. Also because, like all of your questions, it is simply loaded to play a game of 'gotcha' with those you disagree with or dislike.

Obviously they are aware of your stance and behavior here so your quest is futile, but you do a nice job of braying about how you've "proven" your point, not that I know who besides yourself you are proving it to...

Since the issue of whether to be at war is a question in so many people's minds, asking whether they favor "winning or losing" is a faulty premise. But I could forgive you to some extent, since nuance is not (as far as I can tell) in your intellectual lexicon...

Keep up the good work

#1. I want the U.S. to win.

I also want the U.S. to live up to the promises it made to the Iraqi people. We must leave that country in better shape than we found it.

- We must install and make sure a representative government sticks.

- We must make sure a new dictator does not take power.

-We must make sure the Iraqi people are truly free from all repression.

This question dangerously assumes that if we keep the troops in Iraq, we will win.
I agree with shameless. We need to pull out and salvage some diplomacy...the US has shredded any sympathy for sept 11, yet it still demands revenge and "justice".
From here it looks like an angry little boy killing birds with bazookas...no rhyme or reason.

Not many leftest want the US to win. Why won't they admit they want the US to lose?

Nobody answers because it's a loaded question.
It's like asking the Pope which sin he prefers.

Lander the death of the left goes down with Raghdad,Bush and his consevative agenda will flourish....An embedded reporter for MSNBC last nite said iragy men were in tears of joy the closer they were getting to Raghdad..He said it was suprising to even him.

The problem with the left is they can't take yes for an answer, human rights, medication food for the poor, yet you so called"liberals" are against such action. How come you liberals just won't give peace a chance?
