Do you feel so strongly about this that you would commit suicide in order to avoid dropping the bombs?
Try to imagine yourself as a 19 or 20 year old male in 1945. If you had to invade the mainland, there's a 80% probability you would have died a violent and brutal death. And you would have been forced to cause countless Japanese (civilian and military) violent and brutal deaths.
It very easy to sit there in your comfort and safety 50+ years later and revise history to your liking.
But essentially, anyone who states this shouldn't have happened needs to also agree that they are willing to commit suicide over these beliefs. And most of you couldn't even live without air-conditioning, let alone take a knife to your own gut.
