does being fat mean being dumb because it seems to go hand in hand in the U.S.

Welcome to the political forum. As a fellow Canadian, may I ask you politely to tone down the name-calling of Americans, at least until you establish yourself here? We aren't a terribly 'rule-sy' forum, but I always ask that people make an effort to be civil, especially out of the gate.

Thanks in advance.

US enemy #1----Sugar. I got rid of it out of my diet months ago and really don't miss it (cept the cheesecake and the Jack and coke)

Did it for the benefit of my arteries, as my weight is very close to the ideal for size and frame.

There must be a lot of difference between Italian food here and there.

The average American consumes 158 #'s of sugar per year. (people like you and I consume none so someone is getting way too much.) One hundred years ago it was 4 #'s per year.

White sugar is actually good for you, just don't put it in your mouth. Wash your cuts and scrapes, apply sugar, and bandage. You will be surprised how quickly they heal.

Italians don't eat as much pasta over there as we do here. I think their diets consist of 50% fresh fish.

Also drink wine over beer and water instead of soda.

Finally, far less preservatives.

I don't have any data to support my position, except for observation.
