The thing is you will not be able to sleep one half hour after finishing work.

You will not go to bed for about 5 hours and that is what f's your life.

i worked for a supermarket for roughly 6 years overnight. started with picking up the cardboard than i was stocking the shelves. when i would get off a few of the crew would grab a 20 pk and got sip on those than go home around 11 ish. sleep a few hours eat dinner hang out than crash around 8 and wake up at 10 to be at work by 10:30. was fun at first than it SUCKED towards the end. a few years aint to bad but over an extended amount of time it sucks.

I am no longer unemployed - I was offered a position as the overnight manager for a large retail store. Very happy to be going back to work.

Wanted to ask you folks who have experience, what (if anything) can I do to make the transition easier for myself? The shifts will be 10pm-7am for the most part.

While I don't think I'm going to love the hours I'm taking the job because the company is rapidly expanding and I should have opportunities for promotions and relocation fairly quickly.
