don't understand why, every year, the committee underrates Conference USA. How many times do UAB, MTSU, and Western KY need to pull these first round upsets before they get a little respect? Last year UAB took down Iowa State, this year MTSU punks Michigan State, and WKY back in the sunbelt pulled off upsets in 2008-09-12 and they still slap a 15 seed on the tourney champ? Izzo team should never lose this type of game but 15's and 16's should be reserved for america east, ovc, southern, etc .... not conference usa.

deserved win for sure...never trailed

Agree 100%...

and to think there was so much controversy about MSU not getting a #1 seeding

Are #16's typically really small conferences?.. Once you go a bit lower seeds they can pretty good pretty fast

Today was the closest ever

MSU was the #1 2 seed and M Tennessee was the #4 15 seed.

Thats as close as you can get to it happening without it happening.

Would anyone have been surprised if they would have made MSU a 1 and Mid Tennnesse a 16?

Or course not.

As a matter of fact most people were surprised MSU was not a #1 to begin with

I agree in general..but could MTSU have been a 16? Or is that reserved for tiny conferences? Having said that I think hampton' which is "no hope" beat IWS as #15 seed

For the most part you are right. But after the dust settles, it's usually a Blueblood program that ends up winning the national championship. In fact I can't remember the last time there wasn't...

Mookie Blaylock was a phenom! Totall forgot about him, he made that team go and OK was a force for years back then. That was a great period for college hoops.

Pearl Jam's first band name was Mookie Blaylock. I shit you not.

It basically happened today. MTSU is not even good. And MSU hit 11-24 threes, it's not like they didn't show up. MTSU just played the game of their lives, and pulled off the biggest upset in tournament history. What a moment for those kids. They are done, though, I don't think they are good. Stephen F Austin on the other hand, can make a run. That team can ball and plays good d, turnovers are nonexistent, and they have a NBA player. I had no idea such a sleeper existed, but they are no Cinderella.
