Ample testing early on SHOULD have been the case so we don’t get to the point we are now. That’s the whole point. If we were better at testing up front. EVERYONE who had come in from out of the country.....not just the sick. Because how the hell do you know? If we had done testing up front and prepared for that, we would of had a possibility of getting ahead of the curb on this thing and we wouldn’t be in as bad of a situation as we are now. Where we aren’t testing 3400 people because it’s in the countries best interest to not use test kits on those people.
Testing early on should have been used as a prevention measure of the virus. Because if you can track it then you can prevent it. But if you don’t track it well enough....like we didnt....then it’s going to spread rapid in the most vulnerable areas. And it has. Testing it early was our containment measure.
Do we want to be able to test those sick people in the hospital or in nursing homes to verify? Absolutely. But this has been the problem from the VERY beginning. Testing. And it’s still the problem. We have to choose not to test those people just because of the fact that we don’t have enough. And its more important to track it and test somebody who possibly could spread it even at this time compared to somebody laid up in the hospital with symptoms and dying, when you have a lack of tests.
It’s really really common sense.
