Here is a little more info to chew on....since Saban has been at Alabama:

Below is a look at Bama's 10 losses since the start of the 2008 season. Yards passing and rushing from the opposing team and turnovers are Bama's.

In 7 of the 10 losses (70%) the opposing team's QB threw for at least 3 TD's. I count the 2012 A&M game (even though Manziel only threw for 2 TD's) because Manziel was amazing that game and ran for another score and was the ONLY reason they won.

In 7 of the 10 losses (70%) Alabama had at least 2 TO's including 3 TO's or more in 3 of the 10 losses.

In ONLY 1 of these 10 losses did Alabama not commit at least two turnovers and the opposing QB not play out of his mind. That of course is last years Auburn game. I will say that Marshall did throw for 2 TD's (though only 97 yards passing) and ran for 99 yards and another score so he was no slouch. Still Bama did not lose that game due to TO's or a Garcia-like performance from the QB. Auburn rushed for almost 300 yards.

So in short Alabama has only lost 1 game in the last 6 1/2 years when they do not turn the ball over more than once and they do not allow the opposing QB to turn into Joe Montana. Alabama only loses when 1)the opposing QB has a phenomenal game, 2)they turn the ball over 2 times or more, or 3)the barn has a horseshoe up their a$$. For this game #3 can be ignored.

What does this have to do with the LSU game?
A. Jennings has thrown for no more than 1 TD against any SEC team (including KY). He did throw for 3 TD's once this season but it was against Sam Houston State. The most passing yards he has accounted for was his 239 yards against Wisconsin (although 80 yards came on 1 play). Against SEC competition he is averaging right at 125 yards/game and less than one TD per game. RUSHING YOU ASK? His best game was a 40 yard performance against KY. Against Auburn, Florida, and OM, he rushed for 7, -8, and 2 yards respectively.
Jennings is not going to miraculously throw for 300 yards and 3 TD's. He has not even shown glimpses of that kind of play. He might throw for 150 and 1 TD but I also expect a INT. As much as people like to fuss Alabama currently ranks 26th in passing defense and that would of course be much better if not for the first game of the season when our corners were not set. This will be the 3rd best passing D Jennings has faced this season behind Wisconsin and OM who ranks just ahead of Bama at 22nd. Alabama will not lose this game because of a Garcia-like performance from Jennings.

The ONLY way Bama loses this game will be if they turn the ball over more than 2 times (I think LSU gives us at least 1 TO). I think LSU knows this and will probably be looking to strip the ball as much as possible. Special teams are worrisome with our kicking woes and mistakes handling kickoff and punts. The atmosphere will only make it worse.

If Bama hangs on to the ball they win. Its really that simple IMO. LSU is not good enough to beat us without some help.

What are you smoking? Last time I checked the election results, think only Oregon and DC approved rec weed, to go along with Wash and Colorado, lol. Did you not notice that Bama's TD's were thru the air??? Guess who has one of the best pass D's in the country. Come on, Man!

Also, Saban just said on the SEC Teleconference that both Cam Robinson and TJ Yeldon will play.

Chill out T, Info is there for you to decide

My money will go to Bama. You can sit on the Throne and decide where your 50 cents will go. Bama controls it's own destiny and I trust them over LSU any day of the week

LSU won't be able to run on Alabama and Blake Sims makes some BIG plays with his feet as Alabama pulls away late!

Its real.....Cam has made amazing strides, not sure how he actually had surgery on his ankle....but he practiced today. TJ's got a painful toe injury......people are worried.

One of the grad assistants i know real well said the injury to TJ was similar to the one that caused Cooper so much trouble last yr. I really think we might see more read option plays with Blake. LSU has showed to have problems with the dual threat QB's this year. I actually think this game has become one of those games where you can throw out the records and fully expect 60 minutes of smash mouth football the old-fashion way. Imo LSU is the one school that can match our talent level & depth, that is not a knock against the rest of the league. Actually i think Auburn is another top 3 to 5 class from being there. As far as skilled players i think Auburn might have the Best in the nation.

TJ Practiced today and Cam Robinson went thru the drills today during the media period with the 2's not the 1's. We will see what he does after the media is asked to leave.....I will find out.

Playing the Over in NIU......spoke to someone today as well, he said this....Cam clearly wants to play. He did practice with the 1's yesterday after the media left and expects he did the same today. Coach is likely going to start Shepard at Tackle and see how the team performs. If they play well without him he does not play. If they don't, he can play. They want to give him one more week if they can but Cam being from Louisiana is pushing hard, has been very disciplined in his rehab and has made huge strides.

This matchup will represent strength versus strength.....LSU's rushing game against Alabama's rush defense. As strong as LSU’s running game has been lately, it’s tempting to give LSU the edge here, but Alabama’s rush defense is arguably the best in the nation and LSU’s passing game hasn’t yet proven to be a consistent threat.

On Offense, Alabama has actually thrown more than they have run, and Amari Cooper has 71 receptions, 1,132 yards and nine receiving touchdowns in two months of football, but he hasn’t gone up against a defensive backfield as talented as LSU’s. The Tigers’ pass defense ranks 4th best in the nation and has allowed only six passing TDs all year, and LSU is the only team in the SEC to limit opponents to a completion rate of less than 50 percent. IMO, LSU will hold Cooper to his least productive game this year, and they'll do this by playing press-man coverage while getting pressure on Sims. Speaking of Sims, he has been very poor in his SEC road games and he hasn't played in an atmosphere like he's going to experience this Saturday.

LSU has a clear advantage in Special teams, but I don't believe that will be the difference in this game. The difference is going to be a combination of QB play and turnovers. If Sims can shake off the environment and limit his mistakes, Bama wins this game. If he can't get the ball to Cooper on some big plays, or if he can't make plays with his feet, LSU wins. Either way, as a gambler, you have to like a wager on the home team getting 7 points.

Alabama 20-17

Pete, as we saw in the Ole Miss/Auburn game, it came down to a turnover. LSU +4 on the year, Bama -2. Whoever wins the TO battle is gonna win this game imo.

i'll be very surprised if TJ doesn't start and equally surprised if Cam does. they've had two weeks will with at RT and Shepherd at LT and I really don't think they want to risk a true freshman in death valley playing at 75%, no matter how great he is.

looking like Tide's 5th diff starting OL combo this year. never a good thing...

just an FYI if this does shake out and Shepherd plays LT it will be the first time he's ever played a down at that position for Bama

They were talking on ESPN CFB Daily today about Shepherd moving over to LT, so I gotta believe ain't gonna happen. Nothing on Yeldon so I'm rolling with RT on that. Really starting to like the points, can see Bama by 3 but 6+ or more, don't think so.
