Clemson's biggest injury is to starting DT Rashaad Jackson (torn hammie), out till October. His backup Jamie Cumbie promptly broke his hand and it is in a cast that prevents him from using his hand, which is a big deal for him since he's 6'7" and needs to use his hands to offset high pad level. He is hoping to have a new cast that will allow more use of his fingers by game time.

The best true frosh has been TB Jamie Harper who offers speed, power, and solid pass protection; however, he has a bad sprain to his left ankle. Starting guard Jamarcus Grant is also hobbled a bit by an ankle injury.

Those seem to be the only significant injuries.

Other true frosh -- McClain looks good and is in the two-deep at tackle. Bowers has been getting to the QB in scrimmages and should get close to half the snaps behind Kevin Alexander at DE.

Offensive line is more talented and has better chemistry than in recent years, though it's less experienced. Linebackers aren't exactly a strength but have shaped up satisfactorily. There are 6 or 7 whom the coaching staff is comfortable with.

great info....keep sharing in this thread or maybe start a clemson tigers thread and give us updates as much as you can.. these types of things should be more prevalent on this board. it sure was 7 or 8 years ago. people just sharing info and helping each other out when making a decision on a possible wager.i miss those days.

AGREED. I can't wait for these SEC games to roll around. You need to slip where you are posting. I have just got done reading the 'TAILER' board and it appears I need to grab your tail ASAP.

Updates on Clemson:

Linebackers:

Linebackers Brandon Maye and Kavell Conner are atop the depth chart heading into game week. Coach David Blackwell said freshman Stanley Hunter and senior Josh Miller are bracketed as backups to Maye at middle linebacker, with junior Jeremy Campbell behind Conner on the weak side.

Sophomore Scotty Cooper said Thursday he continued to work with the first team Thursday at the strong side with sophomore De'Andre McDaniel pushing.

True Fr TB Jamie Harper:

Jamie Harper was listed as "questionable" for the Alabama game, but Bowden said the freshman running back was able to participate in conditioning at the end of Thursday's practice. "I hope he's ready, but he's third-team tailback," he said. "I'd like to have him. The longer he stays out the less likely he is to play much."

DE Bowers:

Kevin Alexander did not practice again Wednesday because of a leg infection, but Bowden said he believes the defensive end should be back at practice Monday. He's listed as probable for Alabama, but freshman Da'Quan Bowers is a reasonably good option.

"If Kevin doesn't get back out there, the other guy wins by default," Bowden said. "The other guy's solidifying himself every day he's in there, and he's no chopped liver. And Kevin's a pretty good player. "I'll be surprised if he's not full speed Monday, maybe before that."

Injuries:

DL Jackson is OUT for Bama. Besides that injury, Bowden says that the biggest concern among those on the injury list is guard Mason Cloy (the third guard behind starters Humphries and Grant), Bowden said. Cloy (knee) said he was "solid 85 percent" and should be ready but he's listed as questionable. "He kind of separated himself as a guy that's going to play," Bowden said.

So I guess LG Grant and DT Cumbie are doing better.

Think im gonna go to the uga game and then make the trip to atl for the clemson/bama game. should be a great game. If this line will go up a bit more, (which it wont) I would love to jump on it.

GrilledCheese, welcome to the board.

An Alabama fan talking sh*t about Auburn right now is almost as ridiculous as an FSU fan talking about UF. TT owns Alabama right now, and until they win a game it would look better to keep quiet (JMO).

BTW, Auburn has changed their offense and will be running a spread option (coached by Troy's former OC, Franklin). They will be very good this year and will likely win the West.....

(Here I go again!)....

What.... A.... Dumb..... Ass.....

Bet you wish you had Bama +2.5 against Auburn this Saturday.

If any of you morons who called me stupid back in August are still around... I'll be waiting on your apologies...

The better question is....will you still be talking that shit after UF monkey fucks Bama in the Championship game? Bama doesn't belong in the top five....much less the number one spot.

I'm glad you agree. Bama is overrated and is going to get hammered by Florida.

Sure Maybe you will be right.Clemson was your bigest pick over Alabama,Georgia will destroy us,Andre Smith is overated and we will see by end of the season(he may be #1 pick in draft),You had Alabama at 6-6,Alabama in the top 10 you claimed was a "terrible" joke,Alabama is not a top 5 team and now its "hammer" time in Sec championship game.

You were right about Ole Miss Monkef&cking you Tigers.Your not afraid to go against your own so :toast: for that.

Alabama may not have the talent, depth, and style points as a few other teams but to say that this season they don't belong in the TOP 5 is just plain ignorant. If it were up to you then I guess we would just award the championship to the team that looks the best on paper, regardless if they win or lose the game. Having any type of rational conversation with you about Alabama has long ago been pushed to the side. You continue your constant ranting about this team that has gone thru the year unblemished to this point when a lot of so called experts said it would be another bad year. (5-7 wins). You stated that we would lose to Clemson, Georgie, Tennessee, Ole Miss, LSU, Mississippi State, and Auburn at the beginning of the year. None of that has happened. Therefore to make yourself feel better you say Alabama is a joke. Well, I understand Alabama may very well lose to quite a few teams this year. Probably anyone in the TOP 15 or so. I also know that on any given day they could win those games. This is a very disciplined team, lead by a great coaching staff, and a senior QB. I would not underestimate them nor will I say they are going to win the National Championship, the SEC championship, or even this Saturday's game.

It's funny how LSU loses 2 games last year and still wins the National Title and most Alabama fans say nothing. We understood they had a good team and were capable of beating anyone. Now this year Alabama has defeated everyone on its schedule and we have to hear these things from LSU fans.
Stay classy guy and see you next year at BDS. The tide has turned in the SEC West and I think you are having a hard time dealing with that.

Oh, by the way, I will be playing Auburn +14 for a small play this weekend.

Best of Luck!

LOL....Bama fans said nothing about LSU last year. THAT is pure bullshit and just about everyone knows it.

You are correct about one thing. I did not think Bama was a great team at the start of the season and I STILL don't. You can categorize that as some sort of LSU hate for Bama if that helps you rationalize this, but it's not the truth. The truth is that bama has played a weak schedule, been very lucky and has won in an unconvincing manner. NOBODY believes that this Bama team is the top team this year.....that isn't just a singular opinion of mine.

Call it style points all you want, but Bama isn't half the team that Florida is.....and that point is indisputable.

so would you say that if either team shows up that either team has a 50/50 chance of winning. Answer?

Let's hear your answer POST-UP and you got me the window is open.
