The bet is off.
There has been much misinformation in this thread.
1) When I sent Gasman my $1000.00 it was expected by me that Aki would do the same, that is send Gasman the $2000.00 which he bet to win my $1000.00.
2) Complications developed when Gas didn't want to give mailing info to Aki.
3) Aki requested to have until November 1 to get his $2000.00 in.
4) When Aki and Gas were going back and forth Gas agreed to back Aki if Aki were to lose. I never agreed to that and never would. Why should a guy who was chosen by Aki to do us a favor by banking the bet get stuck if one of the participants stiffed him? I would never let that happen.
5) I did agree to accept Aki's bet on the honor system in view of the mess I now found myself in.
But that was about a month ago. I believed in Aki's word. But since that was "settled" Aki disappeared, only sneaking back here a couple of times, on 10/26 and 11/1 I think it was. Mountain did the research earlier in this thread.
For a guy who posted tens of times a day before the bet was "settled", he sure became scarce since.
Something stinks. I may have been stupid to agree to accept Aki's honor but I'm not a sucker. I held out hope until I came up with a solution after getting input from some of the guys here.
I gave him until noon today to check in and reaffirm his bet. It's now 1:30. Where is he?
Where has he been for three weeks since I said "the bet stands". By the way Hillary was about -500 when I said that. I WAS HONORING MY END OF THE AGREEMENT.
And to the one poster, Guesser, who has repeatedly said that I'm trying to weasel out of the bet because I think I'm going to lose - YOU ARE DEAD WRONG. I think I am going to win. But the guy who is supposed to pay me when that happens is nowhere to be found. I have asked if you want to take his bet over since you are so sure that he will honor his bet but you run from that suggestion. Obviously you share the same apprehensions as me. Cut the bullshit.
I am going to PM Gasman with these instructions now before there is any definition as to who is going to win this bet.
Cash the $1000.oo check made out to cash. Take $100.00 to take your wife to dinner for the aggravation this has caused you. I never expected any of this to happen when I sent you that check. Take an additional $400.00 and give it to the church of your choice. And send me back $500.00 which will give me a days pocket money for the racetrack.
I wanted nothing but to honor this bet when I made it and immediately sent Gas my money. Unfortunately I now feel that the other party is playing me. That ain't gonna happen.

Look, I respect you. You are one of the few I'd choose to hold money in any bet. But This is Totally a weasel move. Bet is on as per you a month ago. NOTHING has changed, except you're going to lose and you know it. Just because Aki hasn't posted in a week, you now cancel it? I'll tell that to my book. I made a bet with you last week. I went on Vacation and was off the net, and since then 5 players from the team I bet in are injured, and I'm likely to lose. Therefore, please cancel the bet. My pay -pal email has my full name in it as it is a work email.
I sent Michael my address but not Akphi...just didn't fell comfortable after his debacle a few months ago...
