I find that the people who can see through the "agendas" often make a response post quickly letting people know that it is a BS post.

The regulars do a good job of policing the posts and "moderating" them (for lack of a better term).

I have found that once a slanderous post is up, unless you can remove it absolutely immediately, then it is often worse to remove the post because some people will have read it, but will not ahve seen the responses from the level-headed regulars. Also it makes the site looks like it is censoring even though it really is not. It's just taking out trash... but that's not how many see it.

I prefer to let posts up and then let people respond. It's nice that the Rx has a "number of posts" feature. Someone can see a person who has 13 posts make some preposterous claims, and then all the people with 2,000 posts a piece come on on say "Nice Shill" or "Go Away Shill" or whatever.

There is definitely a problem when someone starts a false and slanderous post about a sportsbook. This can lead to a bunch of people running to the book and making withdrawls and can smuge a book's reputation. These types of things are hard to control, because you can't know if there is any veracity to the claim until it is investigated somewhat. Once it is investigated and found to be false, a lot of the damage has already been done. I think this particular issue is very possibly the most difficult one that watchdog message boards deal with on a regular basis... and I unfortunately do not have a good solution for it.

One solution might be to not allow posts until they are approved... that is really a very labor intensive solution and not at all practical, however. Other than that though, I am not sure how to handle it.

Shrink,

If you think someone has an agenda, then YOU should state what that agenda is as their tagline. It will then be clear to the readers. I didn't get OF as a bonus whore shill upfront, but now that I know, I do my research before blindly following. And to be fair, he has led me to some nice deals.

Also, if you thinnk someone has an agenda, you should either provide a link to a post(s) so we can assess that claim, or give them a fair opportunity to defend themselves.

I thought that I was able to keep a fairly close eye on both forums, but I was obviously wrong.....

What the hell is the deal here between McIrish & Oldfriend regarding Russ?

I apparently missed this ENTIRE thing.

its been my experience that everyone has some agenda or another. its just a matter of whether or not that persons agenda is on the same path as your own.

Tin - I don't pay much attention to Oldfriend so don't know what he posted but probably trying to stir the pot. I did have a "moment" with Russ last week but I have long moved on. Talked to Freddy about it and have written if off. I like the vast majority across the street and try to stay out of that stuff when I can.

Admittedly I can get as angry, stubborn and hardheaded as the best of them but once I blow it off I am fine. Though we all fall victim to it once in a while life's too short for the anger and hatred. Anyway it's a dead issue for me....

JJ - when you are 5' 2" and a 137 pound pencil necked geek like I am you learn to use all tools available. I am quite intimidating behind this computer screen but in real life I couldn't get away quick enough if trouble reared it's ugly head.....

TTinCo - Slander Ken, his advertisers & advertise for Major
BP - Slander Ken, sway advertisers.

Lander pretty much hit it on the head with the first two poster handles...

If anyone were to do a search on the last 10-20 posts made by either TTinco and BP, you would find the vast majority of them attacking me and this site...

I don't mind criticism at all, but when the poster adds nothing else to the site, then maybe it's time to consider banning them...

TTinco used to be a very good poster but I am not sure what has changed him so much...

Betting Prophets has been baned before because he was unable to behave, he emailed me begging to come back, then I reinstate him for this?

I must be a glutton for punishment...

But seriously, besides Lander, are there any others who have noticed what TTinco and BP have been doing lately, or am I entirely wrong to call them out here?

Your opinions really do matter....

Thanks,

THE SHRINK

They are both good posters imo. I remeber BP backing you on a book recently, either Sirbet or Homebet I really can't recall.

TT has been around a long time and has made some tough comments lately but I don't think any left a scar.

Obviously I'm not going to go back and research their past posts (against union rules

). So maybe it's worse than I've noticed. I wouldn't ban either one.

It does seem Tin has been upset with us or something but as long as I can remember he used to call things fairly. He'd bust your chops (and he has mine a great deal of late) but he would often call it the other way as well. I can't agree with any sort of ban on Tin. As long as it isn't just obvious stuff to try and slander us in every post I think you need guys like him to be quite frank about it. As far as BP I will have to check his posts. Always seemed okay from what I can recall but don't quote me yet guys. LOL. It can't always be sunshine and lollipops.

BTW I agreed with Buzz, guess I am back to "calling them the way I see them" today! You're only a sell out when you disagree with what his opinion is.

I notice Tico has changed, I was kind of friendly with him a while back and now he is a wild man. Maybe something is bothering him, who knows and hopefully he will come out of this anger. The guy when in form is a good poster.

McIrish has the most agendas in American History, it actually is a crime.

jjgold, does that make Pat a "con man?" Just checking.

Just a reminder, you seem to be out and about on the site today, when you get a chance please pull up the thread or threads which indicate that I am one of the biggest con men on this site. Much appreciated.
