If he made a fortune playing video poker it would've had to be 10-20 years ago at minimum. Very few machines offer +EV payouts now.

Most just grind it for comps and stuff like that now. Seems like he did play a ton of VP in LV but unlikely that is where he got his millions.

So I'd say the story doesn't add up.

The guy was 64 and he never had any kids, there you go. Also, I don't remember any names but there's a few guys who posted years ago claiming you could make a living playing video poker if you knew which machines to play and played a perfect strategy. No clue if they knew what they were talking about but they were some regular posters on this forum.

It's seriously F'ed up if the POS did all of this just to get revenge on the casino's for him losing 100's of thousands of $$$. I wonder if they'll ever truly tell us how much he was thought to be down at each casino.

If you were knowledgeable about which machines paid out over 100% because of promos then yeah you could probably grind a decent amount off of it before bean counters took over LV.

However, what I think you are referring to is progressive betting strategies in relation to VP, which is something that scam artists/idiots were trying to talk up. Rob Singer used to post at Las Vegas Advisor and that was the first gambling site I frequented. He would try to sell this BS there, he's written a few books on it.

This being the most known one.

He did not make a fortune playing video poker, it's not really possible. He was already rich, playing big amounts, probably losing less when compared to comps, that's very possible. Lot of people play for comps. Getting to stay in nice suites, paid meals, royal treatment, when you're close to breaking even is something a lot of smart retired people do. He made all his money on real estate.

City has a weird vibe now. It's almost like i sensed something was going to happen.

The Bengals were beating up in the browns and this chick I know sent me a text asking if I wanted the extra ticket to 91. I was so close to going. She was right in the midst of It she said. People getting shit around her. I spoke with her that morning when she finally got home around 4am. She was pretty shook up.

She hasn't returned a phone call or text sense

I personally know people who have made hundreds of thoilusands at video poker. I've made 5 figures. You have to know where the +ev situations are and smash them.

Are you saying there are +EV situations when the machine pays < 100%? Not factoring in comps and all that.

Yes, there are certain machines that if you know how to play have payouts of over 100%. I know several people who make their living from playing slots, and I've never had a losing year.

edit: I'm not a professional, I just play in my free time, and I've make a 4 figures a year.

Yeah, I know it is beatable with over 100% payout+comps and all that.

I just figured in 2017 that the opportunities were much fewer and further between. Why would the casinos allow that? Can't they just change the odds of the game and eliminate that edge?

My friend plays and beats it as a hobby and knows some people who beat it but I figured that those folks must really have their ear to the ground and be last of a dying breed.
