Guys a quick question.

When using this system, do you use differnt numbers to calculate nfl and ncca or is the calculations the same?
If the rules are differnt for each sport, could somebody post them for both sports?

NFL avg yards per game -325 = ### div by 7.5

the only diff in CFB is we use the avg each week and that is what we minus not the -325

hopr that clear it up:toast:AA

Is there any site that has the total of all the teams added up or do you add them up yourself?

Do you have any total systems like these for nba or ncca baskets?

Sammy, Ace-Ace, Jackal,

So, I'm kind of math geek with this sort of thing and started monkeying with your formula to figure out two things. First, how would D's be included and second, whether cumulative season stats are relevant or whether trailing x weeks is more interesting.

Long story short. I can't find a way to make D's predictive, but I did notice that just the Home team's offensive yards were about as correlated with points as the combined offensive yards you use in your formula. The other thing I noticed is that you seemed to have started to use this formula after 7 weeks (or so), so I tried using only the average yards from the prior 7 weeks (also tried 5 weeks which is too short, and 9 weeks which doesn't produce enough data to be interesting yet).

The resulting formula...if you use the formula below you get a modest improvement (particularly on the over side).

[ (Away Teams Avg Off Yds from last 7 weeks) x 2/3
+ (Home Teams Avg Off Yds from last 7 weeks) x 4/3
- 325 ] / 7.5

(basically this is a 2/3 to 1/3 weight on the home team's offensive yards)

The results...6 or more of value on either side (for weeks 8 through 12 excluding Monday night) 23-11 (67.6%) 6 or more on the over side 12-4 (75%), 6 or more on the under side is 11-7 (61.1%), but 11 or more on the under side is 4-0 (take that with a grain of salt of course, because exactly 10 is 0-2).

Anyway thanks for sharing your formula and hopefully you find this interesting.

HEY Sammy,

For tonight's game between Ball ST and W Michigan using your formula
Ball st 439 total yds
W Michigan 456 total yds

439+456 = 895

895-370=525

525/7.5 =70

They Over/under is 54.5


basically what I'm asking are my yards correct or did I screw something up?
I used 370 as an average

Did your number come out to be 70?

excel sheet does all the work for me...but if you do it by hand you have to have team total yard avg per game...there thing I do for nba to get a total...but right now its about football...there lots of time to talk about that after football season has ended...

late week it was Under’ 53.5 Stanford It won when ll 3 match...so the record is 1-0 when they all match...I took it one step more and did the match up...I like it...you could say the the system made me bet $300 on this play...the match up made me bet $500 more

within two day the line on the stanford game gone to 50...so it was not a winner for all....but it was only 13 points in the 3rd q of that game!...

o-line is over a +6 and so is d-line...if this was just the o-line with a +6...it would not be a play....its something I started....but to answer
it would both have to be over +6 and avg both to over +6....this has only happen onces...

I feel the d-line will show more than the o-line...the sheet shows that also!!!

navy allows 24 points a game N Ill allows 19 whick is 43 and under that total...lean looks right:drink:AA

you have to set the bar some where...in my NFL 14 years ago I ran test and anything over +6 did well....CFB is diff/// in total we have set it at +17 or more...when 3 match..I set it at +6.... just remember it only a tool
you still need more factor...I need a few to match up to be a action play...to be a Investment play I need more than a few.
