I think this is a very good UNC team but they are overrated. They do not defend well and they struggle to exploit their match-up advantages in games like this. I know that Tyler always plays well here and I don't expect that to change, but this is the best Duke team that he has faced. I just see people unloading on UNC tonight and to me this game is way too emotional for both teams to really know how either team will play. I like the over more than either side..
why is everyone hating on carolinas defense. they do play defense but it usually never show because of the style they play. the reason teams score alot against carolina is because they are taking way too many shot compared to other acc games. carolina scores so fast that the oppent end up taking more shots/more possessions. i have watched all the carolina games this yr and they take the ball down in like 5 seconds and score.

These are the stats from the last 5 games.. What makes you think they play D? There percentages allowed are not very good, and it doesnt even tell the whole story. Alot of teams take bad shots to lower their percentage because they panic on the offensive end, or get frustrated once they get out of the game. This will not happen with Duke tonight.
I wouldn't say this is the best Duke team he has faced. As a freshmen he won at Duke who was #1 against Sheldon Williams, Reddick, and Nelson. That UNC back then was no where near as good as this year. Their not a great defensive team, but I don't think Duke is that great either as against top competition this year they given up around 70 points.
Hansbrough and UNC has all the confidence in the world winning their 3 times in a row and if anything Duke has all the pressure to win at home.
Now that is a good point, that freshman year team was pretty weak for Carolina. I would rather have this Duke team than that one though, they had 2 good players surrounded by garbage. This Duke team has more balance and is a ton more athletic, which is what you need against this Tar Heel squad.
I don't care much for the confidence angle. Both teams will be up to 11 for this game so to me the confidence angle is not that big of a factor. You could argue that the seniors wanting to beat Carolina @ home will be just as big a factor for the home team. I work @ Duke and today I can honestly say that this year their is an entirely different energy on campus compared to the past few years leading into this game. Their is alot of confidence in the student body compared to the last few years. I really don't think the Devils play tight tonight at all.
ah staying away from the puke unc game i could realyl see it going either way, hard to go against the biggest homecourt advantage in college basketball when they are getting points IMO. i do think that unc really does miss ginyard he was their best and maybe only good defender, as someone else had said duke will have to be on target from 3 which is very possible though because i see a lot of open looks.

wanted to provide an update on the NCS Degand and Fergeson situations:
Apparently both were held out of the VT game for Academic reasons. Sidney lowe has stated that both players may be held out a few games. He is very unpredicatable with his line-ups, but I can tell you that neither one will start. State is going to start Javi Gonzalez @ the point tonight, and if you have ever seen this kid play you know this is good news for WF backers. In his last 33 minutes before the VT game he had 11 turnovers. Jeff Teague must be licking his chops..
