COPA AMERICA FUTURES (to win, all 1 unit)
United States +990
Mexico +990
Colombia +1100
Ecuador +3000
Betting the Untied States based on home field advantage, which looking at the sites and some of the schedules is very advantageous. Brazil, for instance, has to travel from Pasadena to Orlando to Foxborough in the group stage. Uruguay has to from Glendale to Philly to Santa Clara. The United States goes from Santa Clara to Chicago to Philly, and catches Paraguay in that third match after having gone from Orlando to Pasadena and back to the East Coast.
Colombia is in the United States Group A, which faces Group B in the first knockout round. Groups C and D are loaded, and I could get good odds on the USA, Colombia or Ecuador (from Group B) getting to the semifinals without really beating anyone. Ecuador gets a rebuilding Brazil in their group with the aforementioned travel schedule. Ecuador has also played well of late in World Cup qualifiers and seems to be rolling along well.
In Group C and D, I'll take Mexico, which faces Uruguay in the first match probably without Suarez, and plays in So Cal, Arizona and Houston. They may as well be playing in Mexico. Argentina is the favorite in Group D and the tourney, but all I need is one upset to derail them and cash a decent sized ticket. If Argentina gets to the semis, I can probably get +100 to win the tourney at that point rather than risk +185 now.
