This is the way I see it and I don’t mean to offend those of faith.

Let me start off by saying that I don’t know if there is a God.

If there is, he/she/it is not the God we were taught by our parents, who learned from their parents, who learned from their parents, see where I‘m going with this.

The Bible is the best selling fiction novel ever written and translated and rewritten and interpreted and reinterpreted by many, many people, see where I‘m going with this.

As for evolution vs. intelligent design I can only say that evolution is proven science. Now given that some scientists say that humans use only 10% of our brain while others say 100%, whatever the number we are woefully ignorant.

I have a theory and I want to emphasize it is a theory not proven by science but there are some strong indicators that it may be true. I believe we are a giant ant farm planted on this planet by species from another universe either solely for amusement or as some sort of macabre experiment.

Which leads us back to the original topic of evolution vs. intelligent design. Where did the species from another universe come from?

My answer is, I don’t have a clue and neither does anyone else. I guess we’ll have ask them if they in fact exist.

Now you see where I’m going with this.

I also have a serious problem with the resurrection. We know things do not die and rise again, I am not counting the people who have been declared dead and have come back to life on the table. The fact that Jesus dies and resurrected 3 days later is a bunch of phooey to me. Your body is made up of an infinite amount of living cells. Not only would Jesus have had to resurrect but all of those cells would have resurrected as well. It simply cannot happen to say otherwise is insulting.

If I wanted to parody a low IQ, comically ignorant, left winger, I would type exactly the same things as bleedingpurple. My goodness, what an embarrassing performance.

Additionally, "settled science" is a fictitious term invented by politicians looking to advance a political agenda. There is no such thing as "settled science" and of course low IQ, scientific illiterates on the left repeat it. En mass.

Finally, I believe that humans will never understand the details of how the universe was created. God left us with: "Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array."

God “stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.” I am not sure why anyone is so invested in finding any more detail than that.

But to each their own.

Assuming your atheistic world-view, neither can the universe create itself from nothing (despise the laughable garbage from Stephen Hawkings),
but it did. So something is awry with your world-view.

The problem you need to address, is that eye witnesses to the resurrection attested to it, and eventually gave their lives for it - something they
knew fore sure was either true or a lie, because they witnessed it. Please explain.

This guy was an atheist cold-case homicide detective, and set out to disprove Christianity:

It’s called the Rashomon effect. Any number of people see the same event but not all of them see it the same way.

Example A.

"The Feeding of the 4,000" with 7 loaves of bread is reported by Matthew 15:32-16:10 and Mark 8:1-9 but not by Luke or John.

Why is that? You would think such a miracle would have been a memorable event for Luke and John and not just Matthew and Mark.

So, are you saying that they saw a fake resurrection? And then became martyred for it? Not logical.

Because Paul ate the rest of the fish and bread before Luke or John had a chance to see it.

If you need proof, Matthew says "Hey Fat ass, how about another comedy fish sandwich?" somewhere in his book. Let me look for the exact verse this weekend.

Probably the most salient post in this entire thread. Until humans at least demonstrate the ability to leave our solar system, anyone who pretends to speak with any "scientific authority" on this subject is an ignoramus.

The only Big Bang Theory that matters:

Whatever they saw was not a resurrection as we know it today. Coming back to life after 3 days of being dead is impossible.

It was a story of fiction nothing more, nothing less.

And who were “they” the ubiquitous “them”?

I know your faith demands that you believe it and that’s OK.

I’m not trying to mock you like I do the 3 amigos, I’m just saying my opinion is that it’s a stretch at best.

Zit my friend,

Whatever you believe, and I know you are a strong believer, be proud of that. Be humbled in the presence of The Lord. Be happy that you are a man of faith and live by God's word. But please accept that others may worship differently, or not at all. And though you are certain those who observe differently are wrong..... I know you feel a duty to spread the Good News. But you can't browbeat people into observing The Lord as you do.

I think I mentioned in an earlier thread that Christianity did not really take off until the apostle Paul amended the rules so that those who converted from Judaism to Christianity would not have to endure circumcision. In the early days of Judaism circumcision was done on adult males with no numbing agents.

"No circumcision?!? WHERE DO I SIGN UP!!!" :)
