Abandoning social distancing now would be catastrophic

How do you define "social distancing"? Presently social distancing policies in many places include people not going to work and/or even leaving their home:

"Many states have already adopted “shelter in place” policies that have shut down all but essential businesses. But this kind of social distancing even extends to small gatherings of friends and going for walks at popular times of day."

https://www.vox.com/2020/3/24/21191557/trump-coronavirus-economy-reopen-social-distance

Earlier this week Trump spoke of people going back to work by Easter, which would ease those social distancing policies.

What is social distancing:

Im sure you can define social distancing a few different ways..

Feel like I've been repeating myself ..

Quarentine older people. Make it mandatory .

Ban travel to badly infected areas.

Stay home and self quarentine if your sick.

The rest go on with with your lives. Practice safe health safeguards..

This isn't 1918.. This Chinese virus is media hyped.. Economy shouldn't be shut down over this.

If my position still isn't clear.. Read it again.

Yeah, some repetition there which is sort of off topic from my post you replied to.

In it I was suggesting or hinting that our definitions of "social distancing" may be different.

Your post didn't give a definition, but some examples of its practices.

This week Trump has been referring to an abandonment throughout much of the USA in regards to certain "social distancing" measures (see post #18) that are now in place. And that by Easter, if not sooner, so in about 2.5 weeks or less.

No one? Many people never took up "social distancing" in the first place & post #7 above refers to folks who have already abandoned it. No doubt there are many more like that.

Once people get vaccinated, in 12 months, perhaps, they may revert en masse to pre COVID-19 practices, i.e. no "social distancing".

I pretty much meant the task force wasn't suggesting giving up social distancing.. Can't control what some knuckleheads are doing out there. Even today Trump said we need to keep practicing these things.. but try and get a balance at the same time so people can get back to work and getting on with their lives
