I've always admired the very rich who give alot of their money away, make a difference in ordinary people's lives. I think I'd be the same. But without having those billions, who can say for sure?

If you were rich, the best thing you could do for the poor would be to be super 'selfish' with your money (in the eyes of the left) by buying lots of stuff and investing in new projects and businesses in your local community. Doing so would not only make you wealthier, you'd also be creating new jobs and new opportunities for the less fortunate, and there is no better gift than self-sustenance.

Of course, if those products were manufactured overseas, your wealth would do more to help other economies than your own, but that's the government's fault for creating an environment so hostile to freedom and private enterprise.
Free market capitalism is not only the greatest wealth generator, it also the best and most natural wealth redistribution mechanism ever discovered!
Donating your money to the government is probably the most wasteful and least productive thing your could do with your money.

You can't "abuse" someone if the action, by definition, is voluntary, which free market capitalism is. Hence the word free. DUH!
On the other hand, forcing someone to pay above market value (your ideology based on nothing but irrational greed and envy) is absolutely "abuse", which is ironic and Orwellian because it is the communist left that once again says one thing and does another.
The market is the market - there is nothing anyone can do to control or bend it toward their own personal ideology.
To wit, if you put too many restrictions/rules/regulation on private enterprise, you will price certain products out of the market resulting in a loss of that economic output.
This is why my system produced 700% in growth over 42 years (the golden age of American capitalism) and yours produces ghost towns, stagnation and misery.
