After hours is nuts. It's been as high as 125 and as low as 112 (where it closed at 4:00pm).

Right now it's around 114, I'm just glad it didn't go down.

Of course it could still open down tomorrow but the earnings report was sweet.

You should always try to sell just before earnings are released and by that I mean a few hours before because usually the stock will tank even after a decent earnings report. It's like musical chairs and is a pattern that repeats quarter after quarter, year after year.

Blistered again the day after earnings. This time it's around 100 bucks a share after a 12 percent haircut. Oh well, maybe I will have better luck on the next earnings report in 3 months. It's just too bad I don't have any more cabbage (or credit) to buy some more.

For what it's worth I think in one year this stock will be at least 150$ per share.

Of course if it keeps its current momentum it will be more like 15 bucks per share.

Hog: I won't sell for tax purposes and wash sale rules. My plan is to hold for at least 5 years unless the earnings vanish then I will take my loss.

Update:

Well here ISRG sits at 93 and I'm just numb to the fact that I'm getting crushed. I still love the stock/company more than ever but I'm not in a postion to buy any more.

Earnings are after the bell Feb 1st and I'm sure the next 2 weeks will be a wild ass ride. Feb 2nd will be a crazy day if the past is any indicater of the future.

I'm pretty much married to this stock right now and won't sell unless the "story changes."

Update:

I'm finally in the black! Earnings at the end of the month and I'm expecting great things for my ISRG.

Hitman, I'm impressed of your loyalty to this stock...even after the stupid downgrade (with no reason whatsoever) that brought down the stock to its $90s...you held it :aktion033. Now is back to its $120s. It's going to keep going up, looking for $130 and a possible split? The stock looks promising so far (if no retarded jerk downgrades it again). Earnings, earnings, earnings. wow! just imagine how high can this one go?

Yeah the monopoly is sweet. Plus when competion finally comes, ISRG will have such a huge headstart that it won't be devastating.

As for that downgrade, that cocksucker from Jefferies has it in for ISRG. I've listened to the past 3 confernce calls and he is always asking negative questions. Last cc he was the only one to bring up the lawsuit while every other anaylist were congratulating the execs and asking about the future and the add on sales.

Recurring revenue is my favorite aspect of this company.

I'm glad to have found another shareholder in this company to shoot the shit with.

Three weeks till earnings. Friday's volume was low, so IMO, the stock will somehow stop jumping like crazy like the last past days. It will move little by little until the day before earnings. The day after earnings has been always good for this stock. I don't see why this coming quarter would be any different and of course, your mentioned recurring earnings will just spice up the stock.

Yeah, excellent run-up today, Hitman. I heard them mention it on CNBC as a huge mover today.

Hitman,

So are you a subscriber to that Motley Fools newsletter or did you get the info from someone else second hand? If a newsletter can make you good $, $199 isn't a bad deal for a years subscription.

Thanks again for your recommendation of Sirius lifetime subscription to me a year ago. You and Fat Tony, I think, were saying what a deal it was. I love it, well worth the cost and no more monthly fees.

Yes I'm a subscriber to the rulebreakers and I'm also a subscriber to the stock Advisor.

The rulebreakers selects small cap companies that are very risky. The problem with the newsletter is that out of the 70 selections there have been, 37 of them have underperformed the market (S&P 500). Out of the 37 that have underperformed, the average loss has got to be greater than 40%. I bought Ency on their recomendation and I lost about 80% of my investment before they recomended to sell. So you really have to get into quite a few winners and if you have winners, you have to let them run to more than make up for the losers. The newsletter picks quite a few biotechs but they offer the greatest rewards if they can get their drugs through approval.

The Stock Advisor is a much better newsletter if you want to play it safer. It started in April of 02 and has released two picks a month since. Since then the S&P 500 is up around 35% while the average of the newletter is up around 73% which is better than double.

It all depends on your risk tolerance as I'm sure they have a newletter for however you want to play the market.

Any more questions let me know.

When I saw this stock on the largest % gainers, I wondered if you still owned shares.

Nice job hanging in this one.
