Good stuff. Enjoying reading your blog. You may have a career in writing someday. I think you are the hardest working man in the biz, literally. You deserve big time compensation and I hope it comes your way.

Strange question, but would you ever consider working for the other side of the counter in Vegas, making the numbers?

Thanks, has to be one of the nicest things anyone has said to me. Means a lot coming from a guy like you also.

Other side of the counter? not trying to be cocky (as I am far from it) but it would honestly take at least 150k a year for that. I came out here specfically to do this. It sort of defeats the purpose to get a real job. I love the challenge of this. Now to actually be a part of making the actual line and having an input that would be real exciting but not sure how many people do that nowadays. If maybe bonuses were included based on how well I did, adding incentive sure I would think about it but I really love what I am doing right now.

when do you get laid ?

i wonder if this would have posted after a $ 1300 losing day .

laid? no probably not enough.

Don't be ridicouls about if I was winning or losing, it would make zero percent difference. I admit right there in the same paragraph I am down for the month.

I have nothing to hide, never would I, that would be just pointless. I have ALWAYS shared on here every up and down along the way. I want people to understand how difficult this whole thing is. In fact the day before I wrote how bad I was doing the past week or so, calling it my 2nd worst stretch since I have been out here.

You can criticize me for a lot of things but saying I care if people think I win or lose isn't one of them. I have nothing to gain either way and would always just tell the truth. Anyone that knows me knows I am not that kind of person.

the public doesn't move the lines most of the time, it's the big bettors and they do when they see a bad number or a number they see value with. I would say a very high pct and it comes from studying this and being able to time it using 15 different outs.

In a sports like hoops this late in the season there is little adjusting done by anyone but sure if something drastic happens the night before I do, good question.

Not that this helps but I made 3 bets in NBA before I went to bed, under 213.5 Houston (213 now), under 202.5 Portland (201), and under 209.5 (218) LA Clips. In CBB all my bets have already moved from plays at the open of over 125 purdue (128), over 141 Fordham (142), over 120 Toledo (121), over 147.5 UConn (149) , over 126 Evnasvill(127.5), under 125.5 st louis (123), under 118.5 airf force (117). Now known of these are going to help you out right now but there are a few out there I like for tonight like 147.5 BYU and if Rice hits 131 I like the under, if northeastern hits 117 I like the under. I expect all of these to be the closing line and be peak type numbers and that is the goal.

Good luck with those. It sounds like you're much more heavily into OUs than sides. I'm just the opposite - never bet Bball over/unders, and very rarely baseball or football.

Don't expect you to give away your secrets, but don't you think that the referees in hoops and umps in baseball have a great deal of influence on the over unders?

Would you also agree that moving to Vegas to do this fulltime would not work for 95% of the full-time gamblers? I know that most of them would still win for instance, but there are WAY too many other vices in Vegas to waste your profits on.

As long as you have a lot of outs, a professional gambler can do this from the comfort of his home in Boise, Idaho. Maybe even move to the state with the lowest cost of living and bet the same amount.

Do you bet around $500-1000 per bet or is it a lot more than that? Most of your plays look solid today. I really hardly ever bet over/unders, but the I would have taken UCONN under and Fordham under. But then again, I am usually just betting and parlaying sides or underdog moneylines

I have played every major sport the past 3 years and by far (and it isn't even close) the easiet to beat is totals and CBB totals is ahead of all of them. I was never one to like these either when I first started but the linesmaker just doesnt get these right and they are so much easier to beat.

PO,
you unfortunately hit the nail on the head. Vegas is vasly overrated for a solo bettor, now a guy on a team of bettors could and does take advantage of what this town offers. The plan is to leave here in a year or two and start a family, doing this in another town. There are other gambling benefits out here, that I wont get into but does make it easier in LV then in Boise. It's just so much easier to get bets down at a high rate like I do over the net but I sort of knew that when I arrived. I also like the fact being here allows me different options, the contests throughout town are great, parlay cards very beatable, the NFL lookahead lines were awesome and something I will explore at a much hgiher level next season and when anyone comes into town you are right here. I wanted to develop some strong relationships so if and when some opportunites pop up I know the right people in this industry, thankfully I have been able to do that also a little bit.

As for betting wise. I wished I had the guts and stomach to have bet a little more but I keep ALL of my plays under 1% so I have been around $300 bet per play right now and it was only $200 or so for the first few months. I have been able to win almost 100 units (1 unit plays over a very high volume of plays) so a big part of me wishes I was had bet more. Like I have always said though I may not get rich but I doubt I will go broke either, which is something I try and never lose sight of.

The huge misconception is one needs 100k or so to do this, that is absolute nonsense. The goal for me is to get in the neighborhood of 6-10k a night on average thru the books, that way I will have 200-300k for the month bet and if I win the 2% range (like I usually do) then I win between 4-8k a month. It's all math. Leverage is the key. You can bet 300k a month but you dont need 300k to bet it. You just keep churning your bankroll. Ulitmately the goal for me is to get the bankroll up to 80k so I can bet $600 on average play and with 20-30 bets a night going thru that would put me in the 400-500k range bet for the month and should make 100k a year. This pretty much sums up how I am doing for the past 30 months but at half this level money wise. So I am half way to where I want to be one day or so but it isnt easy, its a true grind but I enjoy it.

Well I dont live in Idaho either of course, but I do live in a fairly cheap cost of living city. You can have a 5000 square foot house with large pool for around $290,000. That is a big hint!!! The owner might even take an offer of around $270,000. Right across the street from the biggest park in town with a splashpark as well!
