interesting, didnt know this. charleroi is one of those very depressed Mon Valley towns that got whooped up on after the steel industry left pittsburgh. interestingly it is the one town in western PA that had to accept the largest influx of immigrants, something in the order of 3k Haitians for a town that had less than 4k citizens. it was a shithole before the Haitians arrived so can't think what it looks like now, and then another 300 people out of work. on the bright side their single A high soccer team has quickly become one of the best in the state
