Krackerjack,

I am sure you probably know this but your last post indicates you may not....

Even if you decide to tell a sports book that you'd prefer "action" and ot listed pitchers, the TOTAL on a game is always a wash if one of the 2 pitchers is scratched... The side will count but not the total...

Not for nothing, but I did'nt see anything resembling a 10 in the Red Sox/Rangers total. Pinnacle closed the game at 9. With Pedro starting, 9 was consensus. No big deal but it was something I was thinking about when Arod hit the Grand Salami. I said to myself all the poor saps under 9 are cursing Todd Jones right now. I am not sure I could go to bet with the equivalent amount of action (divide by 10) as your friend had bet, but thats me.

There was no 10 in the Tex-Bos game. The Stardust radio show talked about that game, stating the opening # as 9 and being high for a Pedro Martinez pitched game. Does this guy have a TV? Thats all they talked about all day about how the Giants pitcher Rueter was scratched with a bad shoulder and that made the Ponson trade imperative. This story was embellished to the point of disbelief.

I had 9 on the Texas game - was sick to my stomach when I saw the ball sailing out - I know the game went to 9.5 but I did not see any 10 - a 10 for 20 dimes? seems like you might find 10 at an SIA but you ain't getting any 20 dimes down.

Chuck,

Would you care to wager 10k that I can prove this?

Pick your bookmaker and then I will embellish you with the proof sir!

I did forget to mention that this gambler also had Baltimore, UNDER 10 in the Boston game and Atlanta for 20k in straight bets as well...

And for those of you with short term memory, the Red Sox total did hit 10 with one of the Don Best outs last night, even closing at 9 1/2 OVER at CRIS...

Hey, Pinnacle had it OVER 9.5 +110 so I am sure there could be a 10.

Your friend is lucky that he got to sleep - I was having nightmares all night.

personally i think people who say loseing like this makes you mentally tough,is bullshit. All it does is add years to your life makes your blood pressure go up, gives you ulsers, makes you miserable and depressed, gives you reasons to hate the world and everything in it. It also makes you say over and over how could i do this too myself. IT makes you loose your appetite and your sex drive, in a nutshell it ****s up your whole world. It begs the question does the win out weigh the horroblie way this guy lost his money he thought he won. Gambling is cruel and yet can be euphroic, take it from me i have been doing everyday for twenty somthing years, and i will never dig myself out of the whole i am in. Be careful guys PLEASE. I also want to add you never get used to the losses every loss like that is just another knife in you already wounded body

shrink says, "this friend goes to bed thinking he won over $200k last night"

maybe it's just me, but how the fuc#$k do you go to bed not knowing if you won or lost with that kind of $jack$ riding on the outcome!!!??
you think maybe in the middle of the he might just do the old turn the TV on real quick to check out the bottom line on ESPN2 or maybe swing it over to ESPN news real quick...but sleep thru the night and wake up the next morning to get the results!!!...talk about ice water in the veins!..
