Journeyman - those are some FUN ideas but most likely they will never happen. BUT...
Since Instant replays came around for NFL football as a kid I always wondered WHY they don't do it for baseball especially when the umps made a BAD CALL!
But then we wouldn't have anything to talk/argue about. The beauty of the game is the HUMAN element and I love it when the manager comes out to argue with the Ump.

How about this one?
1)when a UMP makes a bad call on the 3rd out either the batter or catcher has to chase him to 3rd base and if they tag or catch him the out doesn't count? or the next time at bat they automatically get a runner on 1st base!
or if they catch him they can punch him in the face as hard as they can. (mask on of course)
this may prevent alot of BAD CALLS that are usually in favor of the HOME team. And I'd LOVE to watch the UMPS running away from a pissed off batter with a bat-in-hand.

INSTANT REPLAY ( for the ump only)
If the manager decides he wants to challenge an umpires safe or out call, and instant replay says the ump is wrong
The umpire is then tied to a wild pony( which is kept in the bullpen) by his ankles....The pony then drags the ump around the warning track and fans get to throw their baseball giveaway at him, but only the fans that decide they don`t want the giveaway
