Will Pamela and Tommy Lee be dating again by Feb. 28th? No at -200. There is very little gossip about this happening, there is no real reason to believe it will happen, Pamela is in the middle of a divorce and it must be made public. I would place the odds of them dating again and it being made public at 10% or under. Thus, -200 is hugely favorable.
Will Apple get exclusive rights to the Beatles library by end of february? Yes at -110. This is heavily reported by credible sources that a deal is very close. The deal is supposedly in the final details stage. My guess is that there is a 75% chance or bettor this deal takes place soon. The only chance the deal doesnt happen is if they cant work out the details. There is huge money to be made by both Apple and the Beatles - which is usually a strong influencer is being able to work out the details. Apparently, Jobs is actively involved in the negotiations.
Will the Beatles grant the right for one of their songs to be in an ipod ad? Yes at +200. This is supposedly in the works as part of the deal. Historically, the beatles have refused to allow their music in commericals. However, if the deal gets done for the exclusivity it will be a huge deal and the use of a song makes so much sense. I bet the odds of this happening, if the exclusivity happens, at 80%. Thus, huge value at +200.
Will GNR release chinese democracy by dec31. No at -110 (I have no at +150). Axel Rose promised it would be out by end of the year and there was a lot of buzz a month ago. However, there is nothing now. Supposedly, the label doesnt have it on its release schedule and stores dont know about it. If it was coming out this year there would be indicators and there would be some marketing push because it is such a monumental album. chances of coming out this year are under 20%.
Will Jessica Simpson and Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo publicly announce that they are dating by February 14th, 2007? no at -350 (I have it at -300). Romo has come out and said he has never dated her and has no intention of doing so. He has (had) a crush on her and it is rumored that they met. He also met with her dad and gave him tickets to a game. I think this was a bit of a publicity stunt. Also, the bet saying they must "publicly announce that they are dating). Given his comments, I think the chances of that happening during the football season are nil, especially with Dallas in the hunt and the negative distraction such an announcement will cause. Chances of an announcement by february 14th are under 10%.
