Ah yes, but the full merger of the AFL and NFL did not occur until after four Super Bowls had been played. Prior to that, teams in the NFL did not have to face the same level of competition.

Since the AFL and NFL merged teams on the field for full season play, the Packers are in the bottom third of NFL franchises for overall success. (Just eight Division titles and only 16 winning seasons in 39 years)

But hey...I hear that Aaron Rodgers kid is up and coming
