JOSH notes: Part of the problem is that W keeps the Iraq war costs seperate from the defense budget.

SH: True dat. Which is actually sensible since the 2Billion+ spent weekly in Iraq and Afghanistan to fund the US invasion and occupation of those two countries has nothing to do with 'defense' of the USA and should therefore properly be slotted under Mercenary Services.

Sad part is that historically, mercenaries were paid for by the countries in which they were working. In the 21st century, they're provided for free to the countries in which they work and paid for by your and my federal tax dollars.

All the benefits you have gotten from this evil country and yet you stay. Why is that?

Why are you still here? They have schools in Canada also.

You are so clueless its funny. You have no clue what the real world is like.

Why is that a problem? The Iraq/Afghanistan war is an appropriation and does not fall into the categories of mandatory and discretionary spending.

In any case, we could blow up the Pentagon tomorrow and we'd still be heading for bankruptcy with the entitlement tsunami on the horizon, so this finger pointing at the bravest, most noble and patriotic Americans is an OUTRAGE! :puke1:

See, this is the problem -- no objectivity. No discussion of facts.

Just lots and lots of demagogues on the left and too many :coke:who have a right to vote.

You want "compassion"? You want your economy based on warm and fuzzy FEELINGS?

Fine, drive the state in bankruptcy, but then don't go whining that your government spends too much money.

You "progressive" libs always want everything both ways -- and are totally bankrupting out country with your pitiful intellectual ostrich syndrome and intellectual dishonesty.

government spending is good, great, if they spend it the right way like canada. but then you have the US, which is a worldwide example of what happens with crappy leadership.

Ok if I wanted current figures I would have to open many files I am not capable opening:sad3: so this is the best I could come up with. IMO its accurate though

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_budget_of_the_United_States

The United States military budget is that portion of the United States discretionary federal budget that is allocated to the Department of Defense. This military budget pays the salaries, training, and healthcare of uniformed and civilian personnel, maintains arms, equipment and facilities, funds operations, and develops and buys new equipment. The budget funds all branches of the U.S. military: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard.

For 2007, the budget rose to US$439.3 billion.[1] This does not include many military-related items that are outside of the Defense Department budget, such as nuclear weapons research, maintenance and production (~$9.3 billion, which is in the Department of Energy budget), Veterans Affairs (~$33.2 billion) or the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan (which are largely funded through extra-budgetary supplements, ~$170 billion in 2007).[2] Conversely, the military budget does allocate money for dual-use items, such as the development of infrastructure surrounding U.S. military bases. Altogether, military-related expenses totaled approximately $626.1 billion.[3]

What we needs to do is stop spending the money and start to save the money, so we can take care of the people when they need stuff, when they don't have the money to buy the stuff, cause things cost to much. This would be a good thing and it will help the people be happy again. This is what I think about this here issue.

Absolutely.

These MoveOn.org moonbats who constantly disrupt debates with their ad hominem bullshit (because they have nothing of substance to add) should be banned permanently.

Problem is, Kingban is further left than Stalin and has a worse temperament than Mike Tyson.

Is that a moonbat in my sites?

Nope.... I dont have that much time to waste like JC there.... ask a mod or something so they can check that out if you are freaked out.

Don't care. Was just curious as he was also a pimple on Joe's ass with a 4 syllable name that ended in the letter S with no space between the first 2 words.

Actually, Joe, I'm very much against many of these entitlement programs, and I'm not a progressive lib either. Not to long ago gtc08 thought I was a McCain supporter due to my desire to not turn the US into a democratic socialist state.
