Played a shit-ton of games today and ran just awful. TBH it started to affect my play and I started playing poorly on top of it. Gonna look back at my history and update this thread tomorrow but I have a feeling I'm somewhere around 6/18 or something. Gonna have to turn things around here!

Still playing well when running bad is a struggle for me too. It was obviously over a mathematically insignificant sample and not reflective of your game, so when your ready to play your best, get back at it as you have plenty of time to get back to 50%

Yeah thanks...like, the last one I played last night, there were 4 left (on bubble) and I was 2nd in chips, chip leader to my left. I'm on the button and look down at 10-10. Blinds are high and the short stack is in the BB, so I raise to 3.5x BB to give him a shove or fold option. SB chip-leader shoved though and BB folded.

Chip leader had been shoving REALLLLLLLLLLY light so I decided to call him off here with 10s. He tables K8 offsuit and BAM king in the window. So frustrating.

I know he must have been putting me on a steal here but REALLY? K8 off? And he could have done the same thing by bumping up my bet; if I was stealing I would have mucked and if I had a hand like I did I would have shoved and he could have gotten away from his massive underdog for nearly all his chips situation. But, he's a moron and did what he did and it worked out for him, even though he had a cash sewn up but decided to get 85% of his stack in as a 3:1 dog. Sigh.

It is just not ending.

Facing PF raise with two red jacks, I shoved, was called by two black sixes.

Flop comes out with K 9 2 all hearts. Guy hits his one outer six of diamonds on the river.

Nothing anyone can really say, but we've all been there.

Brutal the way the cards came out, but I feel better thinking that is just part of the 20% of the time my JJ is going to lose to 66 (all-in preflop).

GL!

Time to update. MANNNNNN did I go on a tough run there, always in with the best of it and always losing. Seems like I'm starting to bounce back now though. Leaving for Switzerland tomorrow so might not be playing for awhile...to be continued as I can play. Hopefully I can go on a good run and start to right the ship.

Nice stuff here, HC. You play the 5D skin as well, huh? Ever sit down to any cash games? If so, what stakes? It blows my mind how many guys I see so regularly. Between the time I've spent at $100NL/$200NL/$400NL, there are like a dozen guys who I can count on to be sitting at 3-5 tables of those stakes any time I fire the old pokerz machine up.

A played a MTT, it was a MAJOR +EV situation. $1500 Guaranteed and only 25 entrants at $20 buy in... there was rebuys and about 25 rebuys but still. Huge opportunity. I registered late, avg currently double starting stack... On button... 3x raise, I have AQ and go all in... called by QJ, J flops... whatever it happens, I get to rebuy. I click the rebuy and it boots me. Guess 5dimes is still having kinks. that was a great opportunity.

Yes I play $50 or $100 NL cash games on 5D sometimes. Used to play those more often than SNG's but they can be too roller-coasterish given the current state of my available bankroll. Yeah the same guys are always playing there, I'll PM ya my username.

I like to target the players I consider weaker.

4 of us left, I'm short stack with $1800 left. blinds are only 50.100

AJ on the button...

Weak player is UG and raises.. I reraise it, double it.

10, 5, 5

He bets 200... I reraise all in....

He has k10... It holds...

6 out of 16cashes

Net Profit: $128.25

I don't want to pick on your play at all, that's not my intent, but I would have reraised bigger PF (you probably lose him there), and you can probably accomplish the same thing without putting yourself at risk by raising the flop bet (if that's the line you were intent on taking) by like 350. He would have probably shoved but even a call from him and you know you're in trouble and can get away from it still having 1000ish in chips.

Agree you want to target the weaker players but usually you don't have to get too crafty here; wait for a better spot where you know you're very likely holding over him. If that spot doesn't come they'll probably donk off to someone who does hold over them putting you in the money. Just saying, I hate giving a weak player free chips by trying to bluff them (they don't even understand that you're repping A10 or an overpair here, all he sees is top pair and you are NOT gonna lose him...so find out more cheaply if he actually holds top pr).

Anyway, my .02

With so many posters interested in poker I was personally hoping to get this subforum going a little bit. I am not particularly interested in this being one of the offshore's most epic threads. Just something fun to do in here.

Also the circumstances here are a little different, there is no prop bet between posters which fueled the drama in that thread...
