Other than politicians who are more worried about reputation than getting anything done, who gives a fuck about Ukraine?

They convinced them Benghazi was the most important place in the world. They can convince them of anything. We'll be hearing about Ukraine for the next year and all the conspiracies surrounding it!

We have money for our returning vets. Republicans just refuse to spend it because their irrational fear of government. Vets should be as well taken care of as anyone in this country. We have the money to do so just crazy politicians.

Kerry says Putin's entrance into Ukraine to protect Russians in Ukraine is ridiculous yet:

Ukraine new government are a varied lot. Of 21 cabinet members more than a handful are drawn from the far-right nationalist Svoboda party, & a notable thug from the 'Right Sector' Dmitry Yarosh is the new Deputy National Security Leader. Yarosh heads a militant ultra-rightwing group (Right Sector), which surged to prominence during the Euromaidan demonstrations for its uncompromising stance.

When more rational groups at Maidan portrayed the latest deal with Yanukovich. as “very important.” Yarosh stated “The Right Sector will not remove the blockade of the government buildings until our most important requirement is fulfilled – the resignation of Yanukovich.”
They got what they wanted, the tail was waging the dog. Yarosh's stances were precisely what aggravated Putin to show his muscle.

he may 'outplay Obama', the question is can he outplay the G7? he's bold, for damn sure. His involvement (keep in mind his country has gross issues) is for port access,....ask yourself, why would you invade? minority issues? Putin? :)

times have changed. It's clear USA does not have a 'reagan' type calling the shots. Rest of the world HAS to step up.

with that in mind....here's Canada

“I have this morning directed that, effective immediately, all planned bilateral activities between the Canadian Armed Forces and the military of the Russian Federation be suspended. This includes exercises, such as NORAD’s Exercise Vigilant Eagle, and scheduled meetings,” Harper said in a statement.
“We continue to view the situation in Ukraine with the gravest concern and will continue to review our relations with President Putin’s government accordingly.”

“Canada can never accept, and the international community can never accept, ethnic nationalist justification for invading a peaceful, democratic neighbour,” Baird said before his meeting with Prystaiko.
“It’s not lost on the rest of the world that the same argument was made before the Second World War on the annexation of the Sudetenland in Czechoslovakia in 1938. We will continue to call on President Putin to withdraw all of his forces to their bases and to refrain from further provocative action in this part of the world.”

....I don't believe we have the mental capacity to live peacefully amongst ourselves. Sick , sad , thought. We are the most destructive species on the face of the planet. As for what Putin is doing with the Ukraine? Is it different than what USA did with Iraq? Putin sees a weak USA, and wants to gobble.

You can debate the results but not the reason. The US did not go into Iraq to conquer it, or for economic gain. Right or wrong we perceived Saddam as a threat. Whether it was worth it may not be known for years. Of course to those Americans who lost their lives and their families the cost may be too much to bear. America went into Iraq with the goal of making our world safer. THEN WE LEFT. Putin invaded Ukraine for power and money.

Pure aggression on Putin's part as he attempts to re-annex the former Russian empire.

[h=2]Secretary of State John Kerry has cited the declining Russian stock market and the sliding ruble as examples of the costs the Kremlin is paying for moving Russian forces into Ukraine. But some in Moscow are asserting that the crisis may be GOOD for the Russian economy.[/h]“A cheaper ruble and more expensive oil could actually go a long way in improving Russia's economy, possibly offsetting other potential aftershocks of the Ukraine crisis,” writes Anatoly Medetsky in the Moscow Times. He points out that higher oil prices help the Kremlin because it is so dependent on energy exports for cash. And a weaker ruble will help make Russian companies more competitive in international markets. He argues that the crisis will actually net the Kremlin billions of dollars.
According to Oleg Kuzmin an economist with the investment banker Renaissance Capital in Moscow, a drop of 1 ruble in the exchange rate against the dollar adds $5 billion of revenues to state coffers. Furthermore, if the average oil price goes up $1 per barrel, that means 60 billion rubles more in revenue for the Kremlin.
Others argue that the situation will not be so rosy for Russia, claiming that a declining stock market and possible economic sanctions will more than offset any economic gains that come from the crisis.

And Sharia Law is the main element, it just goes down hill from there. Sharia law has no tolerance for "infidels'. That is the red line from hell.
