ok I see what happened...

A customer places a wager on a bad line. The customer doesn't know that it is a bad line because he doesn't bet that sport. He bets it both ways plus parlays the draw.

5dimes catches the bad line, cancels all wagers, notifies all customers that had pending bets....13 HOURS BEFORE THE MATCH.

Customer wakes up to see how much his bets have paid off (DOES NOT CHECK EMAIL) sees that the bets are canceled, gets pissed off and calls 5dimes.

Guy at 5dimes tells him, sorry bad line talk to the boss.

Guy calls 5dimes boss...5dimes boss looks at account and sees the guy bet the bad line everyway known to man...

posts are made on the posting forums...

customer checks his email....

opps...

5dimes is a very solid book that pays fast these days, but I never like seeing bets cancelled. Especially over a measley amount.

I dont know who you are Green Doberman, but I do know you're a real cynic who simply doesn't trust people. That's a shame as your attitute will really set you back.

5 Dimes is a great book. Sure looks suspicious how this guy played it every which way.

5 Dimes doesn't deserve a bad rap from this story.

I am not a cynic, I am a realist. From a casino or sportsbook point of view, they provided you with an explanation and more than adequate time. If you truly are innocent, perhaps, your friend is setting you up. However, there are many scammers that jump on these opportunities and if you had taken the time to check the lines at perhaps one or two more books, you would have seen the line is way out of whack. That is not attitude, that is being realistic.

joyceflorida- I wish the play had worked out better for you. I was at least glad to see you were reading the soccer forum. I haven't heard of any problems with 5 dimes. I don't have an account there because their site looks like it was designed by someone who hasn't given up his crayons and coloring book yet. Finding the game you actually want to bet on is harder than handicapping the game itself.

I don't feel you were taking a shot at them because I'm pretty sure you would have been smart enough to make the hedge bet at another book and you also would have made larger bets. I feel what they should have done is check your bet history and if you hadn't bet any soccer before, they should have honored you bets.

If you're going to bet soccer, I would suggest you go to bet365.com and read their section on soccer betting rules. It is well written and will give you a better understanding of soccer lines and props. Best of luck to you.

Your exactly right in stating that if I were trying to cheat, I would have done what you said...place a much larger bet on this match. That's the truth, but I was dealing with a very low level manager at that sportsbook which is why I immediately closed the account. I will watch for your posts in the future and trust your opinion. Thanks again.

Tony needs to deal with customers a little nicer I agree but with shot takers, past posters, and scammers everywhere I would probably be the same way. Most books wouldn't go this far over such a small amount but would rather of just paid him and threw him out. Let this be a lesson.

I had problems with 5 dimes a while ago. I will not bother disclosing, however, they are very unorganized.

That would have been amazing if a well regarded book got brought down a couple notches over a couple hundred dollars. Seems like everything got blown out of proportion over a small amount of change.

Anyway, I've dealt with 5Dimes customer service countless times for both wagering and disputes and they've always been beyond professional, always a pleasure to deal with.

That's been my experience anyway.

Dealt with Tony at 5Dimes as both a player and on behalf of other players when I worked here, never a problem with him or the book. Not even close. Always a mature conversation designed to make problems go away and they did just that. I do get the impression if you were an ass to him it could get ugly but never a problem from this corner. Sharp guy.
