Last month I went to wine country (stayed on Sonoma). I rented my car in San Fran. Don't mind the gas that is $4.59 a gallon. First we drove past all of the homeless living in tents, block after block. An absolute disgrace what the liberals have done to this once great city. Shoplifting laws are not enforced.
We couldn't stop for seafood in the City because we had a SUV full of luggage and we didn't want the locals to break into our car and steal everything. We crossed Golden Gate Bridge and headed north. We stopped at a nice grocery store next to high end car dealerships. Oops, I had to leave my family in the car to watch our possessions since there were signs everywhere warning people not to leave anything in open view in your car. I liked paying a 5 cent tax per bottle tax on the case of water that I bought. Oh, you can't go through the self checkout lane with beer. The taxes on everything were through the ceiling. Everything is over-regulated. The vineyards are not allowed to serve food as to not compete with restaurants. The cost of living there is unaffordable for the average person.

Pretty much agree. San Diego area is still pretty awesome. Despite the homeless problem that seems to be getting worse and worse every time I go.
LA for the most part is a shit hole. The Bay Area outside of a few areas is great. Or used to be. Going downhill fast. Especially in SF.
Great state to visit. Or was. But would never want to live there. Ever.
