Reminds me of a good story..
That year I was either 16 or 17 and the local radio station was giving away a Dodge Laser? and I just knew I was going to be the winner.
I would wait patiently by the radio for the announcement that the next 10 callers were getting 10 entries each. They did this several
times a day do I invested hours and hours listening to the radio for the 3 month registration period.
Additionally there were entry forms at the local mall and every weekend I would take as many entry forms as I could (in the hundreds) and fill
them out , then deposit them the following week and get more entry forms. Over the course of 3 months I literally had 1500-2000
entries in the big barrell and several hundred more put into to it directly by the radio station from the callins .
I had to put my mother's name on all the entries since I was a minor.
I dreamed of all the places I was going to drive with my new car , there was no doubt in my mind I would win.
A LOCK.
Finally the drawing day came and along with the car there were scores of additional smaller prizes. My mother actually
took off work early to go with me since she had to claim the car. As soon as we get there they draw her name and
we were the winners of
2 tickets to see Rocky IV
We went together and she loved the movie, so I guess it was worth the effort, LOL.
