It's embarrassing to be on the same side of X-Hole, and the arguments we make are in different stratospheres, but the vaccine is absolutely effective. It's the primary reason the world is opening up again. That and herd immunity

The virus is a serious disease, it killed millions worldwide. I have always maintained that we need to protect the vulnerable, but it's up to the people, their family and friends to protect them and themselves. I'm totally opposed to draconian lockdowns taking away freedoms and destroying lives. I also know masks don't prevent a healthy person from getting sick.

A massive surge in COVID vaccine deaths

A month ago, Tucker Carlson raised concerns over the unusual number of deaths associated with the COVID vaccines. Prominent "fact-checkers" immediately scrambled to discredit these concerns as "misleading" and "lacking in context." FactCheck.org even went on to say, "it's wrong to suggest that reported deaths in the VAERS System database were all caused by vaccines," but Tucker Carlson never made this claim.
The news site Revolver provided context with a graph that showed an astonishing 3,000% spike in vaccine-related deaths. Unfortunately, the article did not provide a link to the source, and the "Open VAERS" website is cumbersome to navigate. Fortunately, the U.K.-based Daily Exposé provided a direct link to the CDC's interactive website, so I am forever in its debt. I was so impressed with the website that I prepared a three-minute instructional video. Share this video with your doctor.
Based on the CDC's data, reports of vaccine-related deaths and permanent disabilities have gone up 3,300% and 850% in 2021 (Graph 1). This is even higher than the spike that Revolver posted ten days prior to my query. We are currently only halfway through 2021, so this disparity may double by December.

Some will dismiss this pattern as a "statistical artifact" due to vaccination of older people who were already closer to death. But when the sample is limited to people under 40, their reported death and permanent disability rates surged 3,300% and 1,200%, respectively (Graph 2).

Let that sink in: these vaccines appear to be killing and disabling large numbers of people who are in their prime — the very same people who are least likely to die of COVID.

I lean to dishonest, since they compare treatments to vaccines (and cite hcq when doing it) and also name check Nuremberg. That seems like a tell that this person was actively looking to mislead. At the very least they went looking for numbers they could use to support their position.


As for the numbers, HungSowel hit the most obvious point - there are more vaccinations so the numbers went up.


There is no denominator in VAERS. There are also no restrictions in who can report. Any time there is a lot of media about a vaccine, more of the general public tends to report and everyone tends to report more because they are sensitized to it and being extra careful. Doctors are supposed to report specifically but underreporting is common for vaccines that are already well known and studied (they aren't going to report every headache for a vaccine that's been around for 30 years). There is always a spike in total reports with a new vaccine because doctors are paying more attention because it is an early warning system.


You cannot tell anything at all from the raw numbers in VAERS. It is a passive reporting system that generates hypotheses about what might be an issue. The FDA and CDC have follow up systems to chase down those leads but just looking at the numbers on their own without doing some serious work to control for other factors is bullshit.

In normal times I would guess the US vaccinates at 10 million a year, now they are doing 300 million a year. If there was not a huge fucking spike, that would be worth investigating.

It's great that your other friends contracted it and had no issues, but COVID isn't just a problem for each individual to measure for themselves. Without mitigations, it has an exponential rate of transmission. A low-symptom, healthy individual contracting COVID isn't a problem for themselves, but they become a vector for community transmission and that's how things spiral out of control. It isn't people being gripped with fear, it's a rational public health strategy to manage this disease.

Thankfully mitigation measures - lockdowns, masks, barriers, distancing, etc - were highly effective.

No, the comparison is between the miniscule number of deaths due to vaccines and the miniscule number of deaths due to other things i mentioned.

OTOH the vaccines themselves are saving millions of lives & restoring life to normal.
