rookie question: in cbb, in general, do teams tend to score more/less/no correlation in the 1st period compared to the last period?

In general, more in the 2nd period. Because of fouls, free throws, etc. Tons of points can be scored in 2 mins game time at the end of the game. Also OT can obviously change the outcome in a big way. However, if its a blowout game, then the last period can be low scoring.

You know that's bullshit, if you can't lose the money then don't play it. THis guy does us a favor by posting his picks, it's your decision to judge his picks and put your money on the line. DOn't come and disrespect the guy if the pick doesn't win. What do you expect perfection?
