While this is still in the discussion stage I have a request.
It is that exactas are treated the same as any other bet in terms of money bet. I'll gladly accept a $24.00 per race limit. But I'd like to be able to bet say two $12.00 exactas. Or three $8.00 exactas. Or four $6.00 exactas etc. These are bets I make all the time. Often they pay something like 10.00 for a $2.00 exacta. What it does is put heavy favorites in play by using them with other horses to get a return worthy of a bet. Just for the record there is no guarantee that said bets come in. They are still hard to hit.
I know, Jack, that you are always fearful that someone is going to blow the contest up by taking outlandish shots that happen to come in but I've yet to meet the handicapper who successfully takes such reaches. But you could insulate against that by going back to your $2.00 exacta for say, a bettor's last $1000.00 or something like that.
Anyway, that's my request. And as discussed I reluctantly agree to cap the payoff in any race.
What do you think?
