While this is still in the discussion stage I have a request.

It is that exactas are treated the same as any other bet in terms of money bet. I'll gladly accept a $24.00 per race limit. But I'd like to be able to bet say two $12.00 exactas. Or three $8.00 exactas. Or four $6.00 exactas etc. These are bets I make all the time. Often they pay something like 10.00 for a $2.00 exacta. What it does is put heavy favorites in play by using them with other horses to get a return worthy of a bet. Just for the record there is no guarantee that said bets come in. They are still hard to hit.

I know, Jack, that you are always fearful that someone is going to blow the contest up by taking outlandish shots that happen to come in but I've yet to meet the handicapper who successfully takes such reaches. But you could insulate against that by going back to your $2.00 exacta for say, a bettor's last $1000.00 or something like that.

Anyway, that's my request. And as discussed I reluctantly agree to cap the payoff in any race.

What do you think?

Yeah Michel tough call. EX can be an issue because of the potential Payouts. But I really like having them in the arsenal. I am willing to go as high as $5 for max base increment with $30 being the max wager limit on EX. . Again keep this in mind, This is a grind it out game. Hit me back. THX. Looking for other players to chime in as well on this issue. THX again.

One more thing. We will make this a discussion thread only. I will start a new thread with the amended rules at the top for Michel, Mel and me to post in. Then Skoda, NInja, and Yes start their own threads each for them to post in. So we will have 4 dedicated threads going for the Spring Game.

I think playing $50 WPS is the way to go.... Grind it out! Final decision format thread sounds good.

Yeah Skoda going to keep EX in as it's an integral part of the game and most if not all of us enjoy that aspect. I will work with Michel to raise the base to $5 and limit the total to $30 risked the same for any win ,place, show bet. If no one has any other suggestions then that will be the guideline for the EX part of the contest. Thx

And a word on the CAP Michel. All tournament play that I am aware of utilizes a CAP. I think $500 is a fair amount to use. for a 10K roll. Prevent players from blowing up the game early or chasing big bombs late when down a dime or so. Just my 2 cents.

Determine ROI

ROI is calculated by subtracting the beginning value from the current value and then dividing the number by the beginning value.

Example today I put $50 on #6 to win it won and paid $7.00 so my ROI is $175 -50 = $125 divided by 50... ROI is 2.5

way I calculate it is to divide the return to the risk amount.

Players may still chase but prevents a 50/1 bomb from clearing a dime deficit all at once.

Good another example would be return 19,000 on our risk 10,000 then would have a 1.9 ROI. I’LL pull up last tourney and see how unless your going to do all? I’LL keep my running totals in a separate thread like you want BOL…2 all…

yeah correct on the ROI that is the way I compute. As for your figures just keep a running total for each specific day Skoda. I will add the previous days numbers to your last day. And I will updating the standings in the Michel, Mel, and Jack thread. THX Skoda.

Affirmative We will raise the Max EX Base increment to $5(Meet Michel in the middle of the road) and cap the EX wagering Limit to $30 a race. I really do not want the game to come down to playing EX Only hence the limit of $30 a race. Same as a w/p/s bet. That should be the last of major rule changes I would assume. THX.
