Aren't the nominees and winners almost exclusively white? How is race an issue?
As a matter of fact, the only time race is ever mentioned about award programs is when blacks complain about and even boycott the show because there are not enough black nominees.
I never watched the shows, probably because I don't care about them. Now that politcally uniformed people think they can lecture us with their 10 second soundbite knowledge, I'd avoid those shows like the black plague.
And RACE has nothing to do with it.

Joker - Great commentary on today's social scene, interesting to show the development of one the Comics' all time Villians, Phoenix's portrayal was top shelf!
Parasite - Satire Thriller - great description of this film fresh original, hums along with lots of twists and turns fantastic story - I am glad it won!
JoJo Rabbit - Until I saw the other 2 this was my Fav, terrific job of poking fun at the Nazis, Sam Rockwell steals a few scenes, Scarlett is a gem ...the writing is spectacular - "yoo hoo Jew" Outstanding!

THR noted that total was “well below the 29.56 million and 7.7 for last year's awards,” and down 20 percent in year-to-year viewers. The Oscars managed a 5.3 rating in the key demographic of adults age 18-49, down 31 percent from last year’s 7.7 demo rating.
The lengthy, host-less broadcast fell almost 2 million viewers short of the previous all-time low, when the Oscars averaged 26.54 million viewers back in 2018.

Yes I was so annoyed at the 1st half of the movie I wanted to leave, But it turned out pretty good. As a fellow gambler it made me doubly sick how AS character was behaving & all the yelling ugh it made me want to scream i was so wound up.
The ending is really good - But Sandlers character what an Asshole

I also really liked JoJo Rabbit. I would say it's still my fave and I have also seen the other two.
Joker was better that I was expecting but it was a movie basically about mental illness.
The thing about Parasite is that it is a foreign film with sub- titles. For me reading text takes away from really experiencing the movie in total. I always feel I am missing things because I am always trying to keep up with the dialogue.
JoJo Rabbit was such a refreshing movie in that it pretty much had everything. It was hilarious in parts while also tragic. It mocked the Nazis while also never letting you forget how barbaric they were. Scarlett Jo was also very good.
No way Parasite was a better movie than Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Tarantino got screwed again.
