I have reached my goal in bases so I will pull back the reigns a little from here on out. I have a goal in every sport and in MLB it is +100 Units ($10,000). In NFL & CFB it will be +50 Units or $5,000. There are fewer days of action compared to MLB and the goals are lower because of it. MLB is generally easier because it is a moneyline sport and not a margin of victory sport, like most are (except the NHL). It is a lot easier to pick the winner than it is to pick a winner and add in the margin of victory too (Pointspread). As with anything though, the law of averages will catch up with everyone. Once you hit that goal, trim the fat and pick your spots. Try to avoid giving it back. Some sports you grind the whole season and never reach your goals. I try to avoid that. Reach your goal and tighten things up after. Hope you all had a safe 4th

One other thing. If you do not reach your goal in MLB by the end of July, chances are you never will. The Dog Days of Summer (August) and September call ups can be very difficult. Books rarely lose money in bases in September. With the expansion of rosters from 25 to 40 you are now wagering on teams that are playing AA and AAA players. It can be very challenging to figure out which teams are trying to evaluate and which teams are still trying to win. People also become focused on football in September and it opens the door for more mistakes in betting bases. Never chase your MLB losses in September. It will only get worse. Some take 20 or 30 years of doing this to figure it out. Others are open to advice and learn it sooner.

Not a bad flyer to take today. Arrieta was spectacular in June going (4-0) 0.92 Era in 6 starts. He is (4-1) 2.16 Era in 7 road starts. He is averaging over 10 K's per 9 IP. He has been the 2nd best pitcher in baseball since June 1st behind Kershaw. It's worth a shot!
