Newbie Excited About the Super Contest - Skill versus Luck
I am one of the newbies this year as an entrant in the SuperContest (nice long sleeved t-shirt by the way), and I am modest in my expectations about winning $800,000, but the excitement is surely in the challenge. It's a whole lot more fun than fantasy football, and it's as real as it gets. While I have my own system, and it has worked countless times in the past in mock predictions from previous NFL season, I am also a realist who understand the limitations. What I wonder, as a competitor in this event, is how much is pure skill versus luck? What do you all think? I am sure that David F-Lane, who won last year, is tremendously adept in statistics and has good football knowledge and intuitive skills as well, but even with that he had to have a good dose of luck too to get 67% accuracy and I would be shocked if he won two years in a row. My guess is that this contest is about 75% skill and 25% pure luck. What do you all think?
