I think the only way you ever get times right is to set up a lookup file and keep all times pacific or what ever you decide.

Unfortunately I don't have time this morning to do this, but you could easily prove or disprove this by using pops' master. Maybe I'll have time to check it later on before gametime, but I doubt it.

those are the type of plays that touts (eg. lawrence does it all the time) i call them bull shit type stats to grab attention. NL this year is 11-11 on an OL of 7 with 4 pushes

just grabbed a couple of the over real quick may 27 stl with a total era of 3.71 had 11 runs scored, than may 9th nym combined era of 5.75 had 11 runs scored as well. at least 3 others as well of the 11 games that went over 7. it's in the master right now w/o doing any work just click on the 1st pivot in the ov & un + umps tab and double click on the 11 games that went over and it will bring up all the games

I created a pivot to help see it more clearly- times in generaly are a pain in the ass to work with

He's referencing totals lower than 7, so the OLs of 7 don't factor in.

actually pops i just used your master and system is correct this year. only 6 NL games with a total of 6.5 or lower where combined ERA was 5.97 or lower and we have 5 unders and 1 over which was part of that tout's writeup

games with total runs scored to the right of matchup:

5/3 jimenez/correia 7 (explained in the system writeup)
5/15 oswalt/lincecum 3
5/17 cain / richard 4
5/20 jimenez / oswalt 4
5/25 wainright / garland 1
5/26 garcia/correia 3

Sorry, just ran into this thread. Pops, are you saying that pitt under is a wise decision with the current umps?

i was using 7, u are correct on 6 and 6- one of the games that went ov had an era of 5.98 but he said less than 5.98 to that would be correct for this year

y, he's a decent under ump, although this year more of his games have gone over, but nothing to do with his play calling

I banged that bitch- got it at 6 though so made it easier. Think I'm gonna try and play the SD/ NY Under too. Anyone playing anything else on the board? Any Hockey players?

pops, u track total pitches for starters? i remember a system posted last year or maybe the year before about how poorly starters perform the start after a certain pitch count, maybe 125? reason i ask is that jimenez just threw 130 today and will be going against super-over Arizona this weekend...could be a spot for an over IMO

i though houston was 2 hours later than pst. twjd should know the answer on this on as he's the king of houston also what the time diff in roc from pst

2 hours is correct. The ump in the houston/washington has one of the tightest strike zones I have seen. Roy Oswalt got ejected in the 3rd inning for arguing with the ump.

I played baseball thru college and I've never seen a professional umpire have a worse "strike zone" that that of the HP ump in the Houston game today. There was NO such thing as an outside part of the plate. None. Oswalt knew what he was in for quickly in this game, thus him being tossed after 2 1/3 innings. Keep an eye on that dipshit umpire.
