i say the fax machine... amazing to me how a piece of paper in my office can be printed on a machine in another office anywhere in the world...

when fax machines first came out - I remember a woman in an office I was in getting confused. She was faxing a sealed envelope and expecting the recipient to be able to read the enclosed contents of the letter. yes... a SEALED envelope being faxed. LOL

Another one of those that are borderline DISCOVERY or INVENTION.

I think it has to favor invention since he set out looking for it.

Out of the serious answers I suppose electricity beats music which I posted.....

ah no , that would be a discovery, the electricity existed regardless of who found it, it was already there. Its like many subatomic particles, its existence is/was inferred from the results of experiments.....so they start to look for them and are eventually discovered (also same deal with many chemical elements)

This is one of the funniest things I have read, my granpa told me a story of when the electric system was first installed here in CR

He said that some guy told him that it was incredible that the oil (you know, like oil lamps) could go through those tiny wires and get into the lightbulbs) :lolBIG:

Wolfie, did you know San Jose was the 3rd city in the world to get public electricity (behind New York and Paris)?

Sure it has.

We now have 3500 lb cars that get 30 mpg.

Hell a c-6 corvette with a 3:15 rear end will go 190 miles per hour top end, do a 1/4 mile in 13.3 secs, eat a road course up and cruise at 70 mph while getting 28-30 mpg. That is pretty amazing........
