The robber will end up getting far more than $390 out of this after litigation.

I don't know if I could ever comfortable trust a Craigslist transaction. My friend got some deal on a X box and he didn't want to go to the homeboy part of town by himself. So I went along with him. Some homeboy selling stolen X boxes. Before we pulled up, he had just sold some drugs to some other homeboy.

after hearing all these bad Craigslist meetup stories I'm not sure why anyone would meet someone anywhere except the inside of a McDonald's.

always go to a local bank to do mine. lots of cameras and police are trained to respond fast to call there. some police depts around here have started offering a monitored entrance room where people can do online transactions

I live in the DC area and use Craigslist all the time (buy and sell). Funny story, I had a 2007 Vizio 40" TV I wanted to sell (it was an early model "flat screen") so I listed it for $125 (I way under priced it). I got a shit load of emails on it...I had to go to work so my wife said she'd sell it. She said some guy with an email "smokeycraig@" emailed and wanted to come over immediately to get it. So she emailed him back (I had already left for work and she didn't consult w/ me). She said some big black dude pulls up, walks INSIDE the house, handed her the money, picked it up and left. It was middle of the day, so she said she wasn't too concerned. I wasn't happy w/ her about it!! Smokey-fuckin-Craig! WTF?!?!

Anyhow, I just sold a wood stove that I bought and used for 3 years off of CL (for $500) and sold it for $600. I have a vacation/second home (a cabin in the Shenandoah's) and I bought a ton of stuff for the cabin off of CL.

In DC, if I see something I like at the store I'll usually check CL first. There's 6+ million people within a 45 minute drive.

Looked like one to me. Guy pulled a gun walked away with sneakers without paying, then got run down.
I agree. All except for the end when the victim uses the robber as a parking space.

1000000% Correct !

How about this... This is how bad the NY DEMS want to do ..........

There are 1.5 million open criminal warrants dating back as far as 1980 and covering 1.1 million people. Some 38% of people given summonses fail to show up for court, leading to an arrest warrant.

Very little sympathy here. We're constantly dumbing-down our society to the lowest common denominator.

What's the excuse? When you can't handle the basics (pay taxes, appear in court, maintain auto registration & insurance), how is that The Man's fault?

maybe my eyes are bad, I saw someone get in the car. Leave a car, in no rush at all. Then walk in front of the car, not away from it. And walk away casually. I am NOT defending the robber at all here, just was expecting him to maybe run or be in more of a hurry. He was too nonchalant about it

Now the taxpayers are going to pay. His new arm? Taxpayers? Defense for the guy who hit him? Taxpayers? Would be best for all if both were deported or killed.

You know both of these guys are killing society yet we allow them to reproduce.( Hello taxpayer). If you are willing to kill a guy for $400, you do not have a future.

All I need is a 15 minute speech where every American was forced to listen and they would get behind me. The problem is so ridiculously obvious.

Would think he's done it before acting like a pro

Exactly, pros don't bring attention to themselves. He had the gun got what he came for, no need to get people looking at him.

exactly! and only 17? what are the odds that he was growing up to be a career criminal. The path he was on it was only a matter of time before that arm was used to kill someone
