16 posters interested in doing a Sweet 16 NBA PLAYOFFS contest?

ok guys, looks like we have enough interest to get 16 in...and even a couple more in case some people dont get their money in....

will need to fund by Friday, that way if someone doesnt get in, we can fill their spot before the playoffs start....

i will send out a note to the books tonight, and hopefully get a response early tomorrow...and we may just do the first 16 that get their money in.....otherwise afraid everyone would wait til Friday, then we arent sure if someone isnt getting in....would only give the others saturday morning to get it there.....
I will have more details on Wednesday, please check this thread and i will update when i hear from a book....

I'd rather see you set a FIRM date to get the money in for those that signed up first. For example, the first 16 are in IF they get their money in by Thursday noon. After that, first come first served fills the slots.

I'd hate to miss out because I was off playing golf and didn't see the starter gun go off. Maybe I'm overestimating the interest, but I'd guess 16 is NO problem.

Perhaps expand past 16 to accomodate everyone?

Rather than head-to-head, I believe a better approach would be a "weakest link" type of contest, which would eliminate the unfortunate situation where a super 'capper could be eliminated and a BRUTAL 'capper moves on strictly on the 'capper matchup they are given.

Anyway, just a suggestion...but any NBA playoff contest is appreciated!!!

Bromo, that is probably what i will do, but i have to know the book first.....I will hopefully get an answer tomorrow...and i will set the deadline at say noon on friday, anyone not in by then, its first come first serve after that...The first 16 get first shot, but there has to be time for alternates to get in before games start early on Saturday...

nice idea Manly, but i would like to do it as I stated where everyone already said they were in...u change it now, they might not like new format....besides we used this format last year, when shrink put up a prize, and it was fun.....cant go past 16 cuz we are gonna go by rounds just like the playoffs, and 16 teams make it in....

I know it sounds like alot in the first round to cap all games and o/u's....but the reason for that, is as we go on, there will be fewer games, and want plenty of chances for players to cap....especially in the finals, need to have 2 picks per game, to insure at least 10-12 shots....hate for one team to win in 5, and all that money rest on best of 5...

I will post lines the night before each day, and even if a person isnt gonna be around, they can still post in the thread that they want Indiana, Sacramento, and Minnesota for that day, all games under....and of course they will get the same lines as all players....

first round will have tons of picks, so each player will have his shot to move on....
