Hey, Trump is no angel, and neither are career politicians on the right side of the aisle, but to ignore all the lies and collusion and crimes against Trump from the left is just wrong. The biggest reason he's a lightening rod is that he's different, and he refuses to play by their rules.

Trump is a byproduct of the Tea Party movement. We hate DC, we thought DC was a problem long before Trump came along. We've been longing for someone to break the mode and drain the swamp, and he's a dream come true for me in the policy arena. Lower taxes, fewer regulations, tapping our own energy sources, better trade deals, securing the borders against "illegal" immigration...., exposing the swamp as they kick and scream are just bonus points.

And the forum is still way better than it was just a few days ago

Well, this is an interesting point.

Did the administration respond appropriately given the situation? I think there were bumps along the road but by in large, I think they'd done pretty well. But the real question is who looks worse during this pandemic?? Trump or the Democratic party?

If the Dems demand to investigate Trump's response to the pandemic and if the Democratic-led Governors continue to lock their own people down for months on end due to what people perceive as nothing but the flu, people are going to start losing their businesses/livelihoods (if they haven't already) and won't vote D come November.

We'll see how it plays out.

Yep, which is why I questioned that you thought he wouldn't come out smelling like a rose in your other post. The one poll on Gallup said 60% approve of the President's handling of this (so that's not just Republicans). The group that took the biggest hit was the media with a 55% disapproval. I think the Democrats are single-handedly losing this election with these extremely restrictive lockdowns (and they don't even seem to realize it). They are not winning any popularity contests right now. And the President conveniently took himself out of the equation by letting the Governors decide. If you don't think Independents are going to look at this from all states and realize it's mostly the Blue States that are invoking Martial Law, I'm not sure what you're looking at. Yeah, I do think the President is going to come out of this thing smelling like a rose.
