it was supposed to imply that when enough humans are acting "bad"...that a plague will hit them. i agree, some high and mighty PT anderson biblical symbolism shit, but it does make sense.

Yeah, I caught the plague reference - but I still remember my buddy and
I looking at each other in the theater and saying WTF was that.

I walked out really disappointed.

THE Most Depressing "Leaving Las Vegas"

A great & realistic flick, but the ending like most of the movie was a downer. Someone mentioned Heat & Coming Home. 2 different reactions on my part, in Heat I could see it coming and felt bad because I wanted to see DeNiro's character get away from the "life" w/Amy Bannerman. Coming Home tho very sad is on my 10 all time favs. as is Heat. The ending was one of the saddest and best of all time. Loved that song? while Dern is walking into the ocean. And Voights talk to the hi school kids is one of the best indictments for the war in Nam, ever. All 3 were great movies and worth seeing. Not all good flicks just like life can have a happy ending. Some of the best don't. The worst w/no redeeming qualities "No Time For Old Men"!

Bambi's mom

and while on the subject of mothers, While not at the end, Sophie's Choice is one hell of a tear fest. On board a train to get gassed, a German Lt. is going to let Sophie and her children off. One catch though, from her boy and girl the mother has to choose one to live. The other will die. Sophie's Choice. I stopped going to movies like this. Getting totally bummed out is not my idea of entertainment

They were talking about this on Stern the other day, i've never seen it. Is it a good movie, and who did the lady pick. I wud pick my boy, easier to raise and wudn't have to buy him tampons.
