Why would you let the clock run down to 3sec before taking a timeout? I get it, that you dont want to give the Lions the ball with time left on the clock. But if you know you are going for it, do you really think they would try anything without any timeouts left at their own 1 and about 20sec to go?

A penalty can easily give you a 1st and goal again (with about 11-14sec on the clock, if you left 20sec), or like it just happened, the annulled TD would have resulted in a do-over from the 6 instead of halftime...
