Active surveillance for more cases is continuing, the Centres for Disease Control says.
The risk of catching malaria in the US remains extremely low, it says.
All five patients - four in Florida, one in Texas - have now had treatment.
Malaria is caused by being bitten by an infected mosquito. People cannot catch it from each other. But the insects catch it from infected people - and the cycle continues.
It is common in large areas of Africa, Asia and Central and South America but not the US.
However, Anopheles mosquitoes, found throughout many parts of the US, can transmit malaria, if they have fed on an infected person.
The risk is higher in areas where:
  • the climate means insects survive during most of the year
  • travellers from malaria-endemic areas are found
Infected people can suffer fever, sweats and chills. Malaria is an emergency and must be treated quickly with drugs to kill the parasite that causes the infection.
Using insect repellent and covering up can help protect against mosquito bites.
The CDC says it is working with the Florida and Texas health departments and those recently diagnosed and treated "are improving".
US doctors are being advised to consider malaria in any person with an unexplained fever, regardless of international travel history, particularly if they have visited or live in the affected areas of Florida or Texas.
Florida has issued a mosquito-borne illness alert after cases were discovered in Sarasota County and Manatee County, warning residents to drain standing water where mosquitoes can breed and wear long-sleeved shirts and pants.

Malaria ain’t no joke. Use insect repellent or wear long-sleeved especially if you're going out.

1) Bill Gates company released billions of GMO mosquitoes in Florida & Texas.

2) Malaria now in Florida & Texas for the first time in 20 years.

3) Bill Gates has a malaria vaccine almost ready. What an amazing perfectly timed coincidence!

Hydroxycholorquine is an anti-malarial drug.

No toxic Bill Gates vax needed.

Give me "school vacation season" for the max please :)

That's when we used to vacation, especially when my wife was an educator

Can this be caused by rapid immigration and open borders? People bringing the disease with them?

Not a medical expert, but it seems plausible to me. I know Trump would be blamed if this happened under his watch, and he opposed open borders

Somebody should hang lines on the total posts it takes for the first conspiracy theory/political rant in an apolitical thread... or maybe not as I'm somewhat stunned that it took 4 responses before Sheriff Joe blamed malaria on Bill Gates.

Also, if posts (like what's quoted below) wishing death on people don't cross the line, what does?

Can't wait until him and about 50 other rich 80 year old liberals are dead. Liberals are the cause of every problem there is.

I think it's a legitimate question to ask where the Malarie is coming from and why the recent surge?

Inflicted people bitten by a mosquito can spread the disease when that mosquito bites someone else

It's much more common in countries to our south than it is the States. So you combine more people walking across our southern border with a bad mosquito season, and baddafuckingbing you spread diseases

Damn, we were being told to wear multiple masks, stop shaking hands and don't hug people just a couple of years ago

“It must be a coincidence that from 2003-2023 there wasn’t one case of Malaria spread by mosquitos…and along comes a company funded by Bill Gates…to solve a problem that didn’t exist…and suddenly in the exact places where he releases mosquitos…there’s an outbreak of Malaria”

Just because you're ignorant on a particular subject doesn't make it a "conspiracy"

I know the documented history of the criminal organization known as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in places like India and Africa.

You don't.

I warned these GMO mosquitos were a disaster in the making, and low and behold... Malaria for the first time in 20 years, with another toxic "vaccine* not far behind!

Good Lord, what's it gonna take to wake some of you clowns up!

I can promise you if the FDA and CDC come out and recommend these vaccines, they're just as hopelessly corrupt and evil as Gates.

Oh, nevermind.. I already know they are! Perhaps this is exact the purpose - another White Hat sting operation catching this organized crime ring (the profiteers, the corrupt agencies, the fake news) in the act.

?Remember: Hydroxycholorquine is an anti-malarial drug. It works and it's dirt cheap.

?Remember: unlike criminals like Bill Gates and his corrupt bribed "experts", I gain absolutely nothing except a clear conscience knowing people who read my posts won't end up like those maimed and dead children in India and Africa.

Who do you trust - Bill Gates or Sheriff Joe?

I remember in the early 90's in south florida, there was fear of encephalitis.

We werent allowed outside after a certain time due to the mosquitos. This happened around October or November if i remember (it was football season)

Hopefully this doesnt turn into something like that. I'm sure they will do even more spraying

Prior to the covid 19 pandemic there were about 2000 annual cases of malaria in the US due to international travel. In 2003 there were 8 cases of locally transmitted malaria in Palm Beach County, Florida. I'm pretty sure Joe Biden and Bill Gates weren't responsible for those cases.

It is a legitimate question to ask where/how the latest outbreak originated. No one knows for sure yet. One theory is climate change. From the linked article

Because the vectors are sensitive to climate, their distribution and numbers are already being altered by climate change. For example, there is evidence that the geographic range of ticks and mosquitoes that carry disease has expanded as warmer temperatures spread poleward.

... but of course, we all know climate change is a liberal hoax... I bet George Soros and the illuminati have been behind it all for decades. :icon_roll

Ah yes, of course..."climate change"

Did you blow out your candles on Greta Thunberg Day (a Rothchild btw) when recently the End of the World came and went once again? 50+ years of documented WRONG predictions on "climate change" say it's a total and complete hoax. A multi-trillion dollar hoax, but a hoax nonetheless.

Do your research where all these hoaxes, scams, multi-billion dollar NGOs, undemocratic organizations and their "problems" they brainwash people with originate. Then follow the money. By the time a politician mentions them in a speech, they're beyond corrupt.

For example, The Club for Rome, a club you're NOT a member of, were the originators of your "climate change" hoax. Betcha didn't know that, did you? I'm sorry, but is there a "climate change" test you can show me to verify this bullshit, like my meat thermometer in my smoker? Of course not, because invisible "problems" like "climate change" nobody - absolutely nobody! - can pin down scientifically are nothing but propaganda.

Many of these charlatans, like Gates, Soros etc., are banned in different countries for different reasons...but that's just not good enough.

They need to HANG for their crimes against humanity.
