'Jeopardy!' fans bored by James Holzhauer's winning streak

Despite seeing historic, record-breaking scores, “Jeopardy!” fans are getting bored with its newest breakout star.

James Holzhauer, 34, has won 14 games of the popular trivia show and — seems like he’ll continue through many more. In addition to the long run on the show, he’s shattered several records previously held by other “Jeopardy!” champions.

On Tuesday's episode, Holzhauer surpassed $1 million in the shortest time ever. His $118,816 win put his total take at $1,061,554 million. This isn’t the only record Holzhauer broke, he previously won a game with a total of $131,127, topping the one-day record he set earlier in his run of $110,914. Before Holzhauer came along, the one-day record was held by Roger Craig on Sept. 19, 2010, when he took home $77,000 in a single game.

It’s clear that not only is Holzhauer a serious “Jeopardy!” competitor, but he’s winning each game by a very wide margin. For some viewers, however, his winning streak and breakout performances have made the otherwise competitive game boring.

“I'm starting to think #Jeopardy is rigged. Day 15 of the James Show. #boring,” one user wrote.

I refuse to watch #jeopardy. There's no competition," another user said.

"@Jeopardy Needs to bring back the 5 game limit for champions! This is boring," someone else noted.

"Wife: (deep sigh) well...this is boring #Jeopardy #jeopardyjames," a more sarcastic user wrote.

This guy on #Jeopardy makes the show boring to watch. No personality whatsoever," someone wrote, clearly taking issue with Holzhauer himself.

This isn't the first game show that Holzhauer has cleaned up on. He previously appeared on "The Chase" in 2014, when he answered 12 questions correctly, winning $60,000 and breaking the show's past record, according to TMZ. Not to mention Holzhauer's win was never topped on the series, per the gossip site.

Its as boring as watching the Patriots continue to win their division & SB's

never gets old. Every time I think of Shula’s Miami teams beating up on us, or OJ running wild for the bills against us, I just enjoy beating up on the division year after year. Here the Jets too. Still hate the Colts from when they were in the division.
I love that this guy knows how to bet , after seeing such terrible betting for years on that show.

‘Jeopardy!’ champ James Holzhauer’s 21st win sets new record

It’s official: James Holzauer now holds the title of second-longest winning streak in jeopardy! history.

The 34-year-old professional gambler triumphed in Thursday night’s game – his 21st victory in a row — adding $80,615 to his coffers. His earnings now total $1,608,627.

Holzhauer has now outmatched Julia Collins, who completed a 20-game streak in 2014 and is the winningest woman in “Jeopardy!” history, and David Madden, who notched 19 straight wins in 2005.

Ken Jennings is now the only contestant left for Holzhauer to beat. His 74 consecutive victories in 2004 set the bar for future Jeopardy! contenders.

Though he has more than 50 games to go, Holzhauer just may have the chops to challenge Jennings’ legacy. The Las Vegas resident’s sports betting savvy — coupled with his determination to find Daily Doubles and focus on the highest-value clues — has allowed him to rack up sizable sums every night.

In fact, on April 17, Holzhauer set the record for most money won in a single regular-season game: $131,127.

Previous champions also credit his success to encyclopedic knowledge base and quick-fingered buzzer skills.

Ken Jennings had better watch out.
