If the NFL rigs games it would just be to keep games entertaining and close. I think the scandal of rigging coming out would hurt much more than the benefits of rigging. But for the sake of argument the Bills winning allows both MIami and Bills into the playoffs which I think is beneficial. I doubt the NFL want these trash bag backup QBs for Colts or Steelers in the playoffs.
Do you guys ever use umpire analytics in MLB? I know people who mine that type of data to their advantage in games quite profitability under certain conditions.
The idea that zebras dont factor in outcomes of NFL games is ludicrous and ignorant. I've already posted how easy it is to stall or advance drives with holding penalties alone since that type of subjective call could, in theory, be called on every play. So it's not the only factor, but definitely a factor.
I'm beginning to think the word "conspiracy" in these parts is code for, "I have no idea what the hell I'm talking about, so I'll throw out a pejorative and hope people don't notice I'm a simpleton!"
Ideally, the Bills clinch before kickoff and this game won't matter as much as people think. The Dolphins having clinched already care less at this point, not like they've circled this game in their locker room as their SB or anything. Seeding overhype is for fans and bettors. Players are just relieved and happy they've clinched. Also, they'll want to avoid any serious injuries at this point.
