I challenge each of us to list a special recipe....

Creme of Crab Soup-

This is SO easy, and its delicious (if you like seafood)

You wanna start with 2 lbs of All Lump Maryland Backfin Crabmeat, very important what kind of crabmeat you use :103631605

Okay so you start with
- 3 sticks of butter or margerine, heat til it melts in a large pot
- mix in flour until it is completely mixed in with the butter
- then add two cans of chicken broth, heat on med high
-add about a half gallon of milk
- mix in Old Bay Seasoning , the amount you add will depend on how spicey
-add the 2lbs of crabmeat and let it heat on low for about 20 minutes

The longer the crabmeat sits in with the juice, the more tasty:103631605

:drink: It doesn't get any better

Sounds good, Journey....why is this in the RRoom and not the health and fitness or main forum??? I mean...it's not like this is a recipe from IDENTITY or anything. I'm sorry...I just had to say that. IDENTITY, I'm not poking fun at you as much as I am at Journey and the mods that move your threads pretty much in a one to one and onto (math geek joke) mapping to the rroom. tulsa

Personally I prefer my crab soup without the milk/cream. one of the nice things about Maryland is that you can find really good crab soup. Thanks for getting me thinking about it Journey, may have to whip up a pot of soup for the holiday weekend........

Baked Franks and Beans

This is easy and kids love it---I substitute the brown sugar and use 1/3 cup BBQ sauce instead

  • 2 teaspoons margarine
  • 3 tablespoons chopped onion
  • 1 (16 ounce) can baked beans with pork
  • 1 (16 ounce) package frankfurters, sliced
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
  • 1 teaspoon celery salt

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Saute onions in butter until tender. Stir in the baked beans and sliced frankfurters. Season with brown sugar, mustard and celery salt. Transfer to a 2 quart casserole dish.
  3. Bake for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.

I can't get "All Lump Maryland Backfin Crabmeat" around this neck of the woods. Why don't you Fred'Ex some of that good stuff over on the cheap.

We had a drink contest at work and this was actually one of the entries.

1.Take one bottled beer and one frosted glass.
2.Open beer with bottle opener.
3. Pour beer in frosted glass.
4. Enjoy!
