I am a soccer nut when it comes to "investing." Each live score service has its pros and cons. Here are my top 5 (with my opinions on each).
1. www.xscores.com (I find to be the most accurate in terms of timeliness of goals and red cards. Plus, you can see the last name of the latest goal scorer on the main page without clicking to see all scorers. This company gradually improves the page, such as displaying a team's rank in its respected league's table as well as providing a note if a penalty was missed or successful and if the game is played at a neutral site or another site not traditionally home to one of the two teams. The site has been displaying yellow cards as part of the World Cup. Hopefully, this statistic will continue into other major leagues/tournaments. Also, xscores has a customization tab that will follow scores by your time zone and can also personalize which games or leagues you want to view. Some hard-to-find live scores they provide are in the leagues of Israel, Singapore, Peru, Uruguay, Iceland, Chile, Cyprus and various international tournaments.)
2. www.activescores.com (This is my second favorite. A bit more colorful site than xscores. Also, activescores provides a scorer's whole name rather than just the scorer's last name. However, you must click on the score itself to get a pop-up of the game's statistics. activescores does provide red cards for matches, but I find xscores to be more timely and accurate in this area. However, activescores does provide yellow cards in major tournaments as well as the world's major European leagues, such as Italy, Spain, England, Germany and France. The company gradually improves, but not at a rate like xscores. Some hard-to-find scores they provide are in the leagues of Belarus, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Peru, Wales and Chile. activescores has a customization feature to view by leagues, but not by games. Also, you cannot customize by time zone.)
3. www.goalzz.com (My third favorite. The timeliness of goals and red cards are not as efficient as xscores and activescores, but if you want to know the score of Middle-Eastern leagues, Asian leagues or tournaments/leagues that are barely followed, this is the spot. Any leagues followed by the above two pages are followed here as well. Plus, Australia is offered here, unlike the above two sites. Customization is also available for time zone as well as leagues.)
4. www.tbwsport.com (My fourth favorite. More organized than goalzz, but the timeliness and efficiency are not up there like xscores and activescores. Any leagues followed by xscores and activescores are found here as well. Customization is also available for leagues followed.)
5. www.espn.com (Soccernet) (This lands in the #5 spot. Yes, espn provides its GameCast feature which has live documentary for major tournaments as well as major leagues, such as England, Mexico, Spain, etc. However, more than half the time, the GameCast freezes or stops updating itself. The positive about espn is that you can get all South American scores that you might not be able to get from the above 4 sites, such as leagues from Bolivia, Colombia, Venezuela, Paraguay and Ecuador. However, even these leagues don't update 100% of the time.)
